NOTE: If you downloaded this object/set before 1/05/06 please redownload it again. Remove the old copies from your TS2 "Downloads" folder and install these.

UPDATE 1/05/06:

FIXED:

1) Recolors will no longer revert back to default once the object has been used.

2) Autonomous Use is working so sims now use the object(s) by their own choice (as well as when you direct them too.)

3) "Shooing" no longer happens when 2 (or more) sims are in the same room for both Directed Use and Autonomous Use.

NOTE: Do not use the Q-Express installer to download the files. Read Downloading and Installation below for reason why.

Hi all, this object set marks many firsts for me. It's the first time I've done 3D Modeling, recoloring, and also creating something to be used in a video game. So while this object may not be as complex as what others can do, I am happy I made it and hopefully will learn more as time goes on. Before I get to the object, I want to say thanks to Numenor for his tutorial on recoloring, and JWoods & Lethe S for their tutorial on creating objects. Also I want to say thanks to IgnorantBliss and Lethe S for answering my questions on the forum. And of course to the creators of SimPE and the CEP.

Okay, with that said, here is my first (and not last) creation. It's an object set that allows you to build your own urinal trough on community lots. Why'd I choose this for my first object? In all my searching I've only come across two different meshed urinals (and only one I personally liked). Plus I remember this being requested a long time ago on MTS2 (I think even before original meshes were able to be made/imported into the game) and I'm not sure if it ever got fulfilled.

The set comes with three sections, "Trough-style Urinal -- Left End", "Trough-style Urinal -- Middle (connector)" and "Trough-style Urinal -- Right End". Using these three sections (or atleast the two ends) you can make a trough of any length. The default texture is Stainless Steal (3 pics with white background.)

I've also included an optional (separate) recoloring package download. There are a total of 4 recolorings including White Marble (pic with blue background), Black Marble (pic with white background) , Gray Granite (pic with redish-orange background) , and Graphite Ceramic (pic with peachish background). (NOTE: Since this is a Set each texture has 3 recolorings {one for each section of the trough.} If you don't like to install too many recolorings you may want to just choose one or two that you like.)

Downloading and Installing:

Since this is a Set of Objects I put all the .package files into folders. Remember to take the .package files out of the folders and place them in your TS2 "Downloads" folder.

Rules of Usage:

Recoloring: You may recolor this set as long as the following applies:
1) You make a recoloring for all 3 parts of the set.
2) You may NOT place the recolorings on any free/pay or pay site. You may place them on FREE sites. (I would prefer if they were at MTS2 so the mesh and recolorings are on the same site, but I won't limit you to just this site.)

Mesh: Do not redistribute the meshes on any other site. You may however..... (read Lots/houses)

Lots/House: You may use these in Lots/House you upload providing the follow applies:
1) All three parts of the set are included in the lot (so whoever downloads the lot gets the entire set.)
2) You upload the lot to a FREE site. You may not include this set if you upload the house to a free/pay or pay site.
3) Give me credit somewhere in a read me file or on the website itself, and link back to this thread.

Yes, I do realize I just sort've contradicted myself regarding the distribution of the meshes...lol But that's the type of person I am.

Known "Issues":

I don't really consider these issues but thought I'd mention them just so no one questions them.

1) The trough "cuts into" kids when they use the object. I'm not sure about Teens since amazingly I currently don't have any Teenage boys in my game...lol It only cuts in a little so I decided to leave it.

2) When you have a full trough set up (two pieces joined together) the texture between the two objects "blinks" while moving the camera. This is because I made the mesh slightly too large on the ends and the two objects are switching places (who's in front/who's in back) while the camera moves. Again, it's a small detail so I decided to leave it.

3) The trough still flushes so after a sim uses it, you will see the water flushing down the back and into the trough. Hence why I made the back so big. Otherwise the water would be coming out of the wall and that would just looks stupid

Tech stuff:
Both the Right End and Left End of the trough have a Face Count = 48 and a Vertex Count = 42. The Middle section has a Face Count = 36 and a Vertex Count = 28.

Enjoy and please click the "Thank you" button if you download.
