Built in the early 1800s, this stately mansion has been passed down from generation to generation. Nestled in the foothills of Virginia, this family home has stayed in excellent shape. The family that built this home was heavily inspired by the works of Thomas Jefferson, such as Monticello and The University of Virginia.
Neoclassical architecture is characterized by its symmetry and formal gardens and it made its way into many buildings in the United States. Thomas Jefferson tried with all his might to make this style of building the official type of architecture in the US.
This house has been updated through the years and now has modern appliances and plumbing. It has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. There is a large kitchen with a breakfast nook and a formal dining room. There is a large entertaining area in the center of the house, with an arts room and a library branching off. Outside, there is an orchard and a green house, along with a lovely pond.
