Apologies for the small size of the screenshots. My main game isn't working properly at the moment, and Anygame Starter will only run in 800 x 600 windowed mode. I wanted to upload these anyway, so I hope the screenshots will do, at least for now. If/when I get my main game working again, I will take bigger screenshots and swap them on here. That could take a while though, I may have to reinstall..... :-(
Anyway, these are some Maxis painting recolours that I made using edited photos that my Mum and I took in Scotland. Photos 1 and 2 (on the screenshots) were taken by my Mum, and photos 3 and 4 (on the screenshots) were taken by me. The first two sets available below for download are the edited photos. These look like actual paintings, rather than realistic photos. The third set is the photos themselves, which may be more useful to people (like me) who like a certain amount of realism in their games.
***SETS TWO AND THREE REQUIRE NIGHTLIFE TO SHOW UP IN YOUR GAME!!***
This first picture was taken in game, and shows the recolours of Maxis painting "Poisonous Forest (In Love With A Curse). This can be found under Decorative.....Wall Hangings and costs $5500. This set is made with the edited photos. It should be compatible with the basegame.
This second picture was taken in game, and shows the recolours of Maxis painting "B Stroke by Alfred D'Simvo". This can be found under Decorative.....Wall Hangings and costs $1800. This set is made with the edited photos. It will require the Nightlife EP.
This third picture was taken in game, and shows the recolours of Maxis painting "B Stroke by Alfred D'Simvo". This can be found under Decorative.....Wall Hangings and costs $1800. This set is made with the original versions of the photos. It will require the Nightlife EP.
There are two other thumbnails below. One shows a close-up of one of the Nightlife paintings (from an edited photo), and the other shows one of the Basegame photos hung in a sim living room.
For anyone who's interested, photos 2 and 3 were taken on the West coast of Scotland, and photo 4 is Cawdor Castle. I can't remember where photo 1 was taken, but I remember that we saw wild golden eagles there! We went to Scotland on a wildlife holiday, incidentally. And it was awesome! :-)
Like these paintings? Have a look at my first set - hopefully you'll like those ones too! Those photos were taken on my 2007 holiday to Scotland, these photos were taken in 2009.
You may upload these with your lots etc, but please give me credit for them. As I mentioned already, the photos are also my own work, or my Mum's work. Please do not claim that these sim paintings, or the original or edited photos are your own work. Because, well, they're not!
I hope that everyone enjoys using these paintings/photos as much as I enjoyed making them! :-D Please don't forget to hit the Thanks button, or leave a comment!
Additional Credits:
Thanks to my parents for their help, and for paying for the holiday! :-D
Thanks to Numenor for making the Anygame Starter, which I used to take the screenshots.
And of course thanks to the makers of SimPE and Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, and special thanks to Adobe for offering student discount on their products! :-)
