My downtown seems like it has more criminal masterminds, cult leaders, mad scientists, and "the law"s (which in my mind is a villain) than the DC and Marvel Universes combined, yet they all hid their evil pursuits and devious schemes in secret rooms behind respectable urban facades... Well, what good is a supervillain if the people don't know that they are to be feared!? With this in mind, I created a skyscraper that could only be the home of someone with dreams of world domination and the resources to carry them out.

A true supervillain will see only two places suitable for their grand plans- either a secluded, massive estate far from the eye and influence of the authorities, or the middle of the city, where they can wreak the greatest havoc among the unsuspecting citizens... but no supervillain is going to stoop to sharing a building with anyone else! Even a penthouse means that your evil Sims might get in trouble with a landlord, and what would it look like for a neighbor to come visiting and see them putting the finishing touches on a device to rain fire down on the city? No, a supervillain's skyscraper must be theirs, and theirs alone.

This building is inspired by a building from the game City of Heroes, called Neuron's Tower. (I only recently discovered the fact that that game is centered around superheroes and supervillains doing battle, but that just makes this design even more suited for Sims with aims to rule to world!) The interior I designed to suit the needs of any type of supervillain you care to move in here... the colors are best suited for a Criminal Mastermind, but the lab would please even the most discriminating Mad Scientist, and the balconies and plethora of electronic connections are perfect for spreading word of your rule to the masses in as fast and as effective a manner as possible.

The top section of this tower is devoted to providing a supervillain with all the comforts they deserve as undisputed overlord of the city (and a roof perfectly suited for a weather-control device, if your evil plans take that route...) while the middle levels include the laboratory, an official room for ruling over the minions you allow into the tower from a place of absolute authority, and for those minions who have trouble following orders, hostages used to blackmail the city into accepting your demands, or superheroes who have foiled your plans one too many times, there is a cell suspended high above the street-level terrace. Finally, hidden in the foundation beneath the towers that support this imposing spire of evil, a command center bristling with electronic communication and surveillance equipment (and a pillar of fire, just for good measure) sits waiting for whatever evil uses you can devise.

I'm trying to get other types of buildings ready for uploading, but I love designing skyscrapers and building my downtown higher and higher, so I'm still planning to share them too, and as an aspiring supervillain myself, I was starting to feel bad for my city's villains (being forced to work on your evil plans behind a revolving bookcase can be so degrading!) so I decided my city needed a building to strike fear into the hearts of the population.
Like all other skyscrapers, this is a much bigger lot than its 2x2 footprint would suggest, and in this case, the fact that it is a residence means that your computer will not have the benefit of getting to ignore the insides of all but one apartment... To try to help with this some, I chose a building with lots of open space on many floors, so hopefully it won't be too bad... Unfortunately, this design is not the most efficient, since there's nowhere to put an elevator shaft all the way from the top to the bottom, but I've playtested a clone of this lot, and it does work provided you don't have too many Sims trying to move around at the same time (and really, a decent supervillain won't want too many people around them- they get distracting!) At any rate, I hope this building brings a spark of evil joy to the cold hearts of my fellow aspiring supervillains. MUAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks to the designers of the buildings in City of Heroes for providing me with the inspiration for this tower- hopefully it's not the home of the greatest hero in the game or anything!
