Do you have SimPE? If so, this method should work. it only uses SimPE to look at things -- not to change them.

First think of a Sim who knows him. If you can't think of one, then send a Sim to his business and get them to talk to him. That will make sure that that Sim knows him. (It's best to choose a Sim you haven't played a lot, as they will have relationships with fewer other Sims.)

Close your game and open SimPE. Open the main neighbourhood that they live in (not the sub-hood, if that's where they live). Open the Sim who has just visited his business. In the lower panel Pugin View tab, go to the Relations tab, and in the drop-down list at the top select [All Households], which will be at the top of the list. Find your business-owning Sim in the in among the Sims your Sim has a relation to. If your Sim knows a lot of Sims this can take some time.

(There doesn't seem to be any sense to the order they're displayed in.)

Note the Household that the Sim you're looking for is in. I'll take Martin Cuthies in Jihoon LeTourneau's relationships tab in my game as an example. As you can see he's in the Cuthies household, which I suppose makes sense.

Now select Family Information (FAMI) in the Resource Tree, and find the household your lost Sim is in in the Resource LIst. Clicking on the Column headings in the Resource List, sorts the column in order, making it easier to search. In my example I have found the Cuthies household. In the Plugin View tab below, you can now see details of this household. You will see that Martin is indeed included in the list of Family Members.

In the lower panel, provided that you have the Plugin View tab selected, you will see,near the top right-hand corner of the lower panel, the Lot Instance. Take a note of its value which will be expressed as a hexadecimal number. In my example it's 0x000000F0, the Lot Instance (sometimes called the NID) of the lot occupied by my Cuthies family.

Now select Lot Description (LTXT) in the resource tree. Sort the Resource List by Instance, the right hand column. Search for the lot with the Instance number you noted in the last step. If your neighbourhood has attached sub-hoods, you must repeat this step for each sub-hood until you find a match. As you can see below, in my example the Cuthies family live in Monopolis, a suburb of my Veronaville. As you can see, their address is 7 Euston Road, Monopolis. There is even a tiny thumbnail picture of the lot, which can help if you can't remember where that address is in the neighbourhood.

NOTES: I started writing this before Kestrellyn posted her rather simpler answer, but while my way is long and complicated, I think it will work to tell you where any playable Sim lives, provided you can think of a Sim who has a relationship with them, no matter how remote and distant that relationship may be. If you look at the relationship between Jihoon LeTourneau and Martin Cuthies, you may notice that the relationship level is 0,0 both ways and that Known checkboxes aren't even checked. I think these SREL relationships between Sims who don't even know each other, are sometimes created just because the two Sims were on the same lot at the same time, even though they never interacted with each other. You can't see these "relationships" in-game, but you can see them in SimPE.

If you're wondering about the name "Cuthies", I gave them that name because I thought they were a family of cuties. But I added an "h" to the spelling to spare them any embarrassment!
