This house plan has a long sordid history. It's been bulldozed and rebuilt 3 times, but I think after 2 weeks worth, this is a fairly decent mansion with some cool features. I tried to keep the custom content to a minimum so that everyone could enjoy this, but for the gardens I had to rely on a lot of custom plants because Maxis just doesn't supply. Other than that, I only used a few build and buy mode items that give the lot the feel I was looking for.
The mansion costs $244,030 fully-furnished, on a large lot. It includes a two-car parking lot with Coliseum-style overhang. There is a portico entrance with a small moat and arched bridge. It has a large living space with a fantastic view of the backyard. The kitchen is medium-sized with plenty of counterspace and an adjoining wine cellar.
There is a deluxe master suite, which includes a large bedroom, a study, private bathroom with raised bathtub, a walk-in closet, a sitting room with fireplace, and a private garden with fountain. The master suite is separate from the rest of the mansion, with a door that can be locked to keep those pesky kids out!
The backyard has a large pool with a long bridge over it. There are several small gardens, and a gazebo with grill and refrigerator. Plenty of space to put up a swing set or even a bowling alley if that's your thing.
There are two identical guest suites/children's rooms off of the kitchen, each with its own private bathroom. The dining room is elegantly decorated with a fireplace and a long table for when company arrives.
The focal point of this whole mansion is the viewing area of the pool. Offset from the dining room is a basement room that actually looks into the pool from below the surface. Your sims can brew an espresso while watching other sims dive and swim around, just like at SeaWorld.
