In my quest to build something 'different', I decided to try a Greek Revival style house. However, I do not find these aesthetic. So I went looking for something historically interesting in the Greek Revival style. And found Arlington House. This was considered one of the most distinguished homes of the early American Repubic. It was started in 1803 by George Washington Parke Custis, Grandson of Marth Washington and adopted sone of General George Washington. It was furnished with priceless heirlooms from Mount Vernon. Eventually, their only surviving child, Mary Anne Randolph Custic married Lt. Robert Edward Lee, fresh out of Westpoint. Eventually Lee decided to join the South in the War Between the states, and became General Lee.
When the North overran the estate and fortified the area, the soldiers were a bit miffed at General Lee, who they felt had betrayed his oath to protect the United States and had attacked it. So they took over his abandoned home and created a cemetery there (Arlington National Cemetery), assuring that he would not get his estate back after the war.
The house has been well preserved, and is now a National Park.
This is a simified version of the mansion.
If you have Pets and can change roof with "roofslopeangle 20" and can put in large pillars, the house looks much better. But I made the house basegame so that more people could use it. Here is a picture with roof slope and large pillars:

And here it is with the basegame version

The winter kitchen is in the basement, and I've left it there, but have expanded it a bit. There are also some modifications to the upper floors to get it to be a more useable house.

Even though the house is on a 5x5 lot, it should be playable on moderate machines as there are only a few trees and the house lines are simple. It plays ok on mine, which is not very fast by today's standards. Note that even using 3' per square, the mansion is so big that it does not fit on a 5x5 lot, so I also shortened the wings a bit.

Lot Size: 5x5
Lot Price: 242,000
