What can I say? As wonderful as they can be, aesthetically, modern houses just don't do it for me. So here's my first upload in a series of houses I'm building in various authentic historical styles.



This is the Meeting Street model from the wonderful house plan site, Authentic Historical Designs, LLC

As you can see, I've made certain modifications to the original design for the sake of game playability and due to the limitations of the building options in the base Sims 3 game, but I believe I've captured the spirit of the style.



This Charleston Side House is of the kind typically found on main streets in the South of the U.S. Designed for narrow lots in urban/downtown areas, it has a lot of curb appeal and is spacious enough to accommodate large, growing families (one of my pet peeves is huge houses with only one or two bedrooms--I like the option of being able to stuff a lot of sims on my lots, big families or roomies). The two rooms on the top floor currently used as a study and exercise room can easily be converted to bedrooms as needed, bringing the total up to 5. If you need even more space, the spacious rear top floor patio can always be walled in to make more room.

The unusual entry and side courtyard hold a picnic table, BBQ grill, and a garden large enough to keep any green thumb happy.

This is not by any means a starter home--I make no apologies for the insane price. I love to decorate and use the classiest, most expensive items for my sims to enjoy. You can always buy it unfurnished for less than half the price, or use the "motherlode" or "freerealestate on" cheats to move your sims into it.

The yard has everything you might need, including a lap pool, a fishing pond in back, and a children's play area. There is a single-car garage with street frontage in the rear.

I hope your sims enjoy this as much as my sims have.
