Greetings simmers! Seems like I have been bitten by the creativity bug and can't stop coming up with ideas for new abodes to share with everyone. As with previous uploads, please let me know if anything's wonky with the house as far as playability goes. Also please note, this lot is HEAVILY LANDSCAPED and may be difficult to process for lower end computers.

Brief:
To design more of a rural mountain cabin-influenced house, with a mountain woodland themed garden, for a moderate-sized family, on a medium-sized lot.

Demographic:
This cliff-side mountain retreat is ideal for an established family with slightly older children, for sims who simply love the outdoors and being surrounded by nature, and for those sims who just want to be left alone.

Real Estate Information:
Lot Size: 40 x 30
Price (U): 76,565
Price (F): 140,560

Weather up in the mountains does tend to get a bit chilly towards sundown, but no sim need fear the adverse effects of the nippy weather. The cabin sports a comfortable den overlooking the formal lounge, equipped with a fireplace built of natural stone, where sims can snuggle up and warm themselves during the cooler evenings.

The cabin interior is decorated in a more traditional vein, with wooden beams set into the walls, plaster, and wallpapering. The bedrooms, including the master bedroom shown above, are set away from the road for a more peaceful and tranquil night's sleep.

The back yard curves around the house in verdant glory, with spruces, junipers, aspen, and all manner of wild flowers growing. There are two small ponds that offer a rippling soothing song to any sim taking the time to recline out in the garden for some peace and quiet, or if said sim is a fishing enthusiast, they can stock the ponds with their favourite fish and laze away the afternoon with a bit of fly fishing.

Additional Comments:
This property took a while to get 'right', mostly because of the extensive planting I had to do, and everything had to look right with or without fade enabled, so I had to fill in all the 'gaps' under the zoom faded trees. The garden is really something if I say so myself, it's just a shame that the screen shots don't really do it enough justice, but it's hard to get a good angle to take a shot of it without taking a million shots! The lot I used for this particular build is in Sunset Valley, on Redwood Parkway. There are two 40 x 30 lots on that road, which are perfect for the setting of this house. Naturally the house should fit on any 40 x 30 lot, so don't be afraid of experimenting with placement!

Special Notices:
1) This lot is HEAVILY LANDSCAPED. There will be a lot of swishing foliage, so lower end computers and computers running the game at minimum specs may have a problem processing all the swishy plants.
2) Sometimes sims might avoid using the easy back door solution to get to the garden and will take the long way around. You could extend the hedge fencing all around the property to avoid this, and I personally chose to leave that up to the player's discretion rather than mess with the aesthetics of the garden.
