"Do Wah Diddy" City Residential Building

The Sim City Revitalization Project has completely renovated this small old Industrial building into a beautiful, modern, eco-friendly residential complex with solar-paneled roofing and roof-top garden and relaxation facilities.

This was the concept I had in mind while designing this project. I built the shell like a city industrial building, and went from there. It is not based on an actual building or a remodel of an existing building.




Building features:

2 street-facing studio apartments with private balcony perfect for singles and couples
2 rear-facing townhome apartments (1-2 Bedroom) with private garden perfect for couples, room-mates, and small families
1 public rooftop garden area
1 public relaxation area
2 parking spaces
4 bike stands

I have provided multi-family and individual apartment versions. I play tested each version and have not noticed any problems.

In the individual apartment versions, all other apartments are empty and include necessary hidden room markers and npc door flags.

******Notes******
  • There occasionally seems to be a strange bug when placing the lots down and a dark black triangle will appear before the doors. I do not know what causes this.
    If this happens to you, what seems to work for me is the following:
    1. use the cheat (Ctrl + shift + C): testingcheatsenabled true
    2. input the code: restrictbuildbuyinbuildings false
    3. Pick- up and replace the public room marker in the area in front of the door.
    4. input the code: testingcheatsenabled false
    5. input the code: restrictbuildbuyinbuildings true
    6. move in sims
  • If you like to play with laundry facilities, I recommend adding them in place of the water-closets on the kitchen level of the townhomes and/or in place of the stack of boxes in the "utility room" on the rooftop.
  • Pizza delivery will bug out in your neighborhood if player-made apartments are placed in your neighborhood, before a pre-made EA apartment exists. You MUST place an EA pre-made apartment somewhere in your neighborhood and save the game before you place this lot, if you do not want this to occur!!!!!!!!!! See my post on pizza glitch
  • Please see the apartment tutorial here to understand how the NPC doors function.
  • If you want to control more than 8 sims, you will need either Twallan's Master Controller or the AwesomeMod, Allow Overstuffed Houses setting
  • You may want to consider one of Flyby's Door modifications to assign doors to families.
