Waterwegen - Custom Neighborhood Map - Empty

Welkom in Waterwegen

Waterwegen is a large canal town with a strong Netherlands vibe. It has many small and big canals, giving it a unique look.
This was my first canal map, and while I like the layout, I had trouble making small bridges between the islands. Instead, the canals are interrupted by dams with streets on them, which looks a bit strange. I could have left the islands without connections, but then you would need custom content (CC) bridges to make them look connected. Maybe I will do this in future maps with CC recommendations. For now, the map stays as it is.

There is plenty of space for anything your Sims might want, especially for smaller lots. You can place lots directly by the canal, but there are no beach lots.

To give an example, I placed a 5x5 lot and added some decoration. The skybox I used is from greatcheesecakepersona (you can find her on Tumblr).

The map is completely empty, so you don’t have to remove trees or random neighborhood objects before building.
I carefully flattened all lot spaces, so there are no bumps, hills, or awkward road placements when you build. It has been tested with and without mods and runs smoothly.

Since the map is quite large and uses nearly all available space, I recommend using a camera mod to see the entire map without issues.

All in all, Waterwegen is a versatile map that can be used for many different ideas.
