LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES!!

Annie was in production from April through September of 1981 and opened in May of 1982. More then 8,000 girls tried out for the role of Annie in an an almost American Idol style, through 22 cities. The role was won by Aileen Quinn but all of the nine finalists got parts in the movie. The movie was shot at the Monmouth College in New Jersey, by the Passaic River in East Newark and at the Burbank Studios in California where the studio's largest permanent set had been created for it.

These are the lead supprting roles in Annie-

Grace Farrel
Ann Reinking started as a dancer and performed on Broadway. She received an Oscar nomination for All That Jazz the Bob Fosse biopic fitting because he had, at one time been her significant other. In 1984 she starred with Amy Irving and Dudley Moore in Micki and Maude. She was away from an adudience for the most part until 1997 when she won a Tony for choreography in Chicago.

I must say, I think that Ann Reinking is/was one of the most beautiful women in the world because of that I spent a VERY long time making her. I did not catch her perfectly but I came as close to her as I could. (can you tell I really like this sim? LOL!!)

Sorry about forgetting to add Ann, but now I have. Unfortunately, I removed her grey and white outfit from my game a couple of weeks ago so she comes wearing Maxis' black and white dress from the base game.


The other Miss Hannigan
Nel Carter was a very gifted singer and performer. I decided to do her because she had a great tv show in the 80's called Gime a Break!(1981-1987) and I got to see her in the role of Miss Hannigan in the mid 90's. Nel began and ended her career on stage. In the late 70's she won a Tony for her role in Ain't Misbehavin. In the 80's she got nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for Gimme a Break!

Geoffrey Holder's credits include Doctor Dolittle (1967), Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask (1972), Alice in Wonderland (1983) (TV), Boomerang (1992), a voice on "Bear in the Big Blue House" (1997), and the narrator in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). He was the 7Up Uncola Man and has also done broadway both as performer, choreographer, and director.
