Wise Acre Farm is a small one acre farm in a rural community filled with large farms. Mr. and Mrs. Wise were looking for a change from city life and thought they would throw themselves into a life in the country. The Wise family were at first considered outsiders, and since Mr. Wise was an overly-confident city dweller prior to his arrival, the local farmers called his small farm "Wiseacre Farm." Soon it became apparent that Mr. Wise would be successful despite his small acreage and lack of experience with farming. He made the most of every bit of land and filled it with a small orchard, a fish-shaped pond, and a moderate garden plot. He added in a cow and a few chickens, and was able to sell fresh fish and produce right out of his barn. Mrs. Wise helped with the farm and also learned to bake pies as well as any home-grown farmer's wife. She even learned to sew and cross-stitch, filling their home with her projects, such a sampler, 2 simple quilted wallhangings, and 3 sets of curtains. Mr. and Mrs. Wise are quite content to be raising a family in the country. They have one daughter and a baby on the way.

Update: A version of this lot for the base game is available here.

Lot details:
3x2 lot
§66,911
3 bedrooms (1 is a nursery)
1 bath
attic rooms are weatherproof for Seasons
home business ready

Note: Rearranging furniture in the attic is a little tricky. You will have to use "moveobjects on" to put things against the walls that are shorter. Make sure that what you put there is either decorative, or the end of a bed or the end of a tub without the faucet. You may have to experiment to make sure that things you place against the shortened walls can still be used by your sims.

Additional Credits:
Plasticbox has a wonderful tutorial that I often use called Bigger attics that is very helpful for making the most of an attic space.

The OFB shelves and counter I used in the barn are from PC-Sims and can be found at Sims2 Graveyard under PCSims in the food-related category.

Playtesting Notes:

1. You'll need to pick up the twin bed in buy mode and set it back down again. I moved it just a bit too far off the grid.

2. I tested the areas upstairs where the shorter walls are, and the good news is that you can place dressers in that space that can be used. I also tested the toybox, a toy stove, and the dollhouse. So the good news is that that space is actually more useable than I thought.

3. The produce truck doesn't seem to work on the home business lot, so if you want to use the space more effectively you could place a driveway section (with an invisible recolor) there and a driveable truck. Dr. Pixel has a nice 1950 Ford Pickup that might work well in that spot.

4. In winter it gets pretty chilly in the bottom of the barn, so to run a home business you may want to rebuild the doors for warmth, or for added realism, make your business day very short. Mr. Wise was able to get a Best of the Best Award his first business day before he got too cold.

5. The attic of the barn is nice and warm -- probably from all the hay up there. But seriously, it's weatherproof for Seasons, so you could put a bed up there for farmhands, undocumented workers, vagrants, Goopy... whoever you want to stay up there will sleep warmly even with the "window" open.

6. This should have been #1. You probably want to install the recolors file first. These are Maxis recolors that refused to be packaged with the other stuff.
