This modern hybrid not only raises the roof -- it also lowers it. I started out to make an unusual starter home, so the lot's very small; however, the structure turned out rather interestingly, so I decided to also render it as one of my fully-furnished, lavish upgrades. It's a cutting-edge cottage for those who march to a different drummer, and I feel it packs a lot of punch into a peewee property. It's most striking feature is a four-story-high cathedral ceiling (no, this is NOT easy to pull off!). The master bedroom is lofted and has overlooks to the main hall and dining area; there are 2-1/2 baths, a second bedroom, and its airy atrium makes this compact dwelling feel much bigger on the inside than it's exterior suggests.

In addition to this is luxury version, I've also posted its bare-boned original that I think you'll agree makes a pretty impressive starter home at just under $20k.
