No making stupid faces when idle

Still OK with Patch 1.67. (This mod is a very simple base game override that isn't likely to change with expansions or patches.)

My greatest thanks and admiration go to TigerM for creating the Smooth Jazz animation script editor (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=365465), enabling us to make mods to disable unwanted animations, such as this one.

As a result, here is a mod to eliminate one of my own biggest peeves among several awful new animations in TS3: the one where sims screw their faces up into a series of really appallingly idiotic and ugly facial expressions while standing idle. These include such beauties as:



If you've been annoyed by these animations too and prefer your sims not to stand around looking as above, this mod will hopefully make your simming life a bit more pleasant! It simply sets the likelihood of these awful facial expressions occurring to zero while idle.

Please note that this mod ONLY stops sims making faces while they are standing still and doing nothing. It does NOT stop sims making stupid faces that are part of the animations for whatever traits they have - those can only be stopped via a mod that disables the animations for that specific trait, such as my 'No wrench tossing' mod http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=365920 which disables the Handy sims animations and the hideous facial expressions that go with them, and there are a few more trait animation disablers here: No More Annoying Idles by claudiasharon http://www.modthesims.info/d/444943

Nor does it disable the face they make when they tap their feet while trying to get past each other - you need a separate mod for that too! No Foot Tapping While Waiting for Clear Route by claudiasharon http://www.modthesims.info/d/458694

Some people have said that the mod doesn't seem to work for them, and member stefan1331, who was having that problem, discovered a solution which other players have now tried with success, so if it looks like it's not working, try his recommendation: "Simply type "TestingCheatsEnabled true" then "resetSim <firstname> <lastname>" and with this mod any Sim you reset shouldn't do anymore stupid faces." Thank you to stefan1331 for discovering that!

This mod should be compatible with any mod that doesn't affect the idle facial animations.


INSTALLATION:
