Material Gestures: Eden
Eden:
Quote:
1. the place where Adam and Eve lived before the Fall. Gen. 2:8–24. 2. any delightful region or abode; paradise. 3. a state of perfect happiness or bliss. |
Eden, A paradise, Happiness or bliss, this is why i named the building 'Eden'.My idea was to portray the Idea of Eden (with Nature and its wonders) and The Industrialised Present and Victorian Era. With this i thought its basicly like a 'Ying and Yang' Balance between Nature and our Human ways. I also thought of it like a statement, If the world is balanced between Industry and Nature then we will live on, but if we do not, then Humans have brought Gaia its own Destruction. And i don't think anyone would want to live on Soylent green :S.
So getting on, why did i call it Material Gestures?, because it was an exhibition at Tate modern in London. I went to London and i really Enjoyed the exhibit and one Certain Artist (Barratt Newman) Named His Creations "Adam and Eve", which made me instantly think of Gaia, and Eden and whatnot. I then had a idea to portray this in The Sims 3 (yes i am Completely Mad) With a nice garden, and a Mansion-like Victorian home.
Now, heres the details.
Eden is a 4 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom house. Theres a Garage, that can be used for Storage or to put a car into. Theres 3 car parking spaces(or two depending on whether you use the garage) and theres room to expand the house to the right if you decide to.
Also, if you look at the pictures, you may see that theres walls on places that probably don't need to be there. The reason i put the walls up is because in a Normal house the walls aren't paper thin, and i wanted to use some space to leave for 'Boilers, Pipes, drains and whatnot' but you can do whatever you want with this extra space.Eden Costs $127,424 Similonians furnished and $86,342 unfurnished and Eden is Built on 30x30 lot.
So, Adios! heres my creation to you all
