“Recently a young mother asked for advice. What, she wanted to know, was she to do with a 7-year-old who was obstreperous, outspoken, and inconveniently willful? "Keep her," I replied.... The suffragettes refused to be polite in demanding what they wanted or grateful for getting what they deserved. Works for me.” ---ANNA QUINDLEN

Thandiwe Kewfilwe
In 1997, Nigeria was both economically and politically injured due to different military factions fighting internally. It was at this time an adolescent Thandiwe was imprisoned for taking part in a coup to overthrow the government, and while escaping and finding refuge; she began to exhibit the activism that many applauded her for. The promise of capture would not stop Thandiwe’s passionate activism for human rights and women’s liberation. At a special session on peace at Addis Ababa, Thandiwe urged females to be strong and independent, “If Women belong in the house, then we belong in the Senate.” Thandiwe vivid personality captured both the hearts of many and the government's attention; she was held captive yet again. Three years after her release and she has been the bestselling author of several books, her political memoirs being one of them. With founding the Youth and childcare foundation and promising aspirations of becoming leader of the free world, this ambitious woman is more than ready to take on the challenges of motherhood.

Thandiwe definately leads most of the protests at city hall!

Inspiration
I'm not a flaming feminist, however, that is because I live in a country where my equality standards are met. I can empathize with people who are not granted same privilleges and liberties. I most certainly admire people who stand up for their rights ,especaily in difficult times! This, in essence, is the inspiration behind Thandiwe

I am also inspired by the political activism & works of the nigerian first lady Stella Obasanjo and Malcom X (I love me some malcom X )

Thandiwe started off as me trying to recreate my mom, but with a few changes you became a completely different person . So I give credit and thanks to my mom for Thandiwe's outside eye corners, nostrils, cheekbone shape, forehead ,and ears. I alsowant to thank to my aunt for her cheekbone height and chin.
