In the 17th century, the dark shadow of war loomed over the land. Brave Sims, eager to protect their proud nation and its people erected fortifications so as to deter the enemy: Heavy cannons were forged, stout walls of earth built, and deep ditches were dug in front of them. Many times this fort was besieged, but never captured due to the valiant defenders who stood their ground even in the face of death. This star fort served to protect the inhabitants of the town for centuries, until it was finally relieved of its duty a hundred years ago, and is now a reminder of a rich history. The trust who takes care of the Star Fort has turned it into a museum with a small cafe in the old gunpowder storage in the walls. Often the local primary school organises a history trip here - the children love the cannons! Many elderly sims like to sit on the benches on the ramparts to reminiscence their young years, when they too were called to defend their country.
This lot features a gatehouse (cannot be entered), two soldier's sleeping areas, the officer's room and a dining area on the bottom floor, all of which are currently part of the museum. The long gunpowder room, part of which is now a cafe and shop is located under the left wall (seen from the front), and features toilets as well.
The fort is based on Bourtange in Groningen, the Netherlands (where I am from):
This lot requires no xpacs as far as I am aware (please inform me if I am mistaken), but does feature some custom content, namely two Totally Dutch packs by Mutske, and the Corsair's Cannon which is from the sims store and costs 25 simpoints, both of which may be found here:
