Rodney's Hideout - Maxis Remodel

As I continue my slow transformation of Downtown's community lots, I needed a pub. Rodney's Hideout, judging by its description alone, always seemed like the sort of place to take a date or an outing for a good time. But it also really lacked for atmosphere, and I don't know what was going on with that pond. I needed a casual place to eat, and I needed a bar with some games. Thus, this odd restaurant has been transformed into an English style pub.



With dark wood finishes, weathered brick, a long bar, and far too many pictures and posters on the walls, Rodney's Hideout is inspired by the pubs that I've known. If you aren't feeling the late night dance vibes of other establishments, grab a few drinks at the bar or shoot some pool with friends. Like all the best pubs, the bartenders here won't judge if you hangout into the early hours.



Because Rodney's does offer dining, there is a private room upstairs with its own bar and a piano for a different type of musical offering. Curious Sims might want to investigate the bookshelf at the top of the stairs and they just might find a secret room for high stakes poker players. (In all honesty, I just wanted to get a secret poker table in this place. The apartment is just for show, unless you are brave enough to make this a business. The third and fourth floors are intentionally empty, as well.

Housekeeping
I've playtested the lot and had no issues. I didn't even realize I had J.M. Pescado's "autosecretdoor" mod, which allows sims to automatically use the secret bookshelf (ex. if you click the poker table, the sims will know to use the bookshelf to get to it, you don't have to instruct both actions). I don't think this applies to NPCs, and I made one selectable to get them to use the table. Just something to keep in mind. This mod is not included but is available at MATY and can be downloaded here.

As with my other community lots, there is some CC included in the file, and some not included that you will want to download to play the lot as shown.
