LuLu Lounge - Maxis Remodel

Come chill and dance at this posh and hip spot where the music never stops and the fun never ends. You'll feel like a VIP as you lounge on the velvet couches while relaxing to the ambient music.

Ahh LuLu Lounge. A lot advertised as playing "ambient" music yet decorated like a disco-bar. Well, identity crisis no more, as this Maxis remodel has been inspired by TS1, specifically Studio Town's very own 82 Sunrise Boulevard (aka Fairchild Film Studios). This one was tricky: it has a huge footprint, and I had to make some architectural changes to best accommodate the existing dancefloor, bar, and new stage. The whole building has been extended by one tile, mainly so I could dress up the entrance with two-story doors and a new marquee, both of which allowed me to lean into the Studio Town / "old Hollywood" aesthetic from TS1. That meant lots of wood, some art deco furnishings, a gold roof I'd never used before, and a few items converted from TS1.



The oldest establishment in Downtown's Club District, no lot says "I'm ready for a fancy night out" quite like the LuLu Lounge. As you emerge from the taxi, step on the red carpet and prepare for an evening of glamour and expensive cocktails. Pass under the old marquee and check your coat at the front desk, then you must decide: left or right? To your left is the large dancefloor. This room used to hold ballroom dancing lessons, but is now attracts a younger crowd and is a place for DJ's to try out new setlists. On the other side of the building you'll find the old jazz club. Find a seat and listen to the band, or, if it is a nice night, head to the outdoor lounge. Here you will find couches, a coffee bar, and a hot tub to let you truly feel like a VIP. If its too crowded on the floor, take the elevator to the 2nd floor, where the balconies gives you a view of both rooms or the back patio. Just don't take the stairs to the offices above the bathrooms!



Housekeeping
As with many of my other community lots, there is some CC included in the file and it is outlined below. The 1t2 fences aren't the most important for gameplay, but they are an important part of the Studio Town look and feel. Please note that Argon’s seasonal topiares are bundled, so you’ll be getting the set of 5 (Egg, Skyscraper, Pyramid, Llama, and Dolphin). If you don't want the bundle, you will have to replace the Surplus Llama Lawn Ornament and The Poetic Porpoise Topiary in-game. The Formal Sign by Simlogical and HugeLunatic's NL Wall Curtain Texture Default are shown but not included. Thank you to the CC creators who made this makeover possible.
