Northeastern Draft Horse(Chinese writing:东北挽马) is a horse breed mainly found in Northeaste China. They are capable of tasks such as horse-drawn sleds.
The Story of π:
Snow blankets the black earth. This is Drift Valley(烟逝谷), a fictional town in Northeast China, and π’s hometown. Once a heavy industrial hub, the town’s mineral resources eventually depleted. Drift Valley then transformed into a grain producer and tourist destination, attracting visitors who love ice and snow, farm life, retro-nuclear aesthetics, industrial styles, and brutalist architecture.
π pulls a sled across the vast snowfields, passing clusters of industrial ruins. π is a Northeastern Draft Horse. Its name has nothing to do with mathematical pi; it comes from a trendy internet slang from China’s Northeast dialect: Daipai, meaning "so cool" or "so dope". The character Pai sounds identical to the symbol π, hence the name of this Northeastern draft horse.
Strong and sturdy, pulling the sled feels like a casual walk for π. Onboard are tourists from Southern China. Having never seen draft horses before, they watch π with curiosity. π is used to stares yet still excitedly makes all sorts of noises—for π is a horse who loves commotion. Offer π some carrots, and it will sing a few folk songs belonging to draft horses.

Later, π made the way to a coastal Equestrian Club called “Equus Future” where the weather is scorching hot all year round, specializing in pulling electric carriages. As the name suggests, the real power of an electric carriage comes from an engine—while the horse is just for providing emotional value.........

**"Northeastern Draft Horse" is not the official English name for this breed. If you want to learn more about it, please search for its Chinese name "东北挽马", as you might find very limited information using this English translation.

I’m posting the original Chinese version of the story here, to avoid any inaccuracies in translation.
