The months pass by slowly. The kingdom is in a state of denial over the death of the Princess. They are more concerned than ever about the throne, its rulers, and their future.
Brody continues to grow and to thrive. Right before his second birthday, Sno again finds herself in labor.
“Esther!” she calls from the bathtub in the lavatory.
Esther rushes in.
“I’m here Highness. I’m here.” she says comforting her.
Esther assists Sno by slipping a long white nightgown over her head and then helps her from the lavatory to her bedchamber. Esther then gets into position to welcome the new baby as Sno’s labor progresses
Not too long after, Sno gives birth to his royal Majesty Prince Calvin. Calvin is a perfect little son. Sno cuddles him and breathes in his hair. This time there are no celebrations outside the window, no cheers or candles. Sno and Charming did their very best to keep this pregnancy a secret. Mostly in fear that the kingdom might learn of the curse. Though having another son is hardly a reason to believe in the curse at all. Regina’s words still play on Sno’s mind some days. Today those memories are all too clear.
“Another daughter, you will never have.” Regina’s words play in her mind.
The birth of Calvin, and remembering her stepmother’s heartless words brings Sno to tears. She remembers how small Anastacia and Brody both were at his age, and she can’t help but feel the sting of pain from Anastacia’s absence in her life.
Sno is enveloped in her sorrow when there is a knock on the door.
“May I come in?” a voice asks outside the door.
“Yes. You may.” Sno says, quickly wiping what tears she can away.
Charming opens the door and walks through. He smiles at Sno, then frowns when he sees her tears.
“Are those tears of joy? Love?” he asks concerned.
Sno continues to try and hide her tears, but more keep coming.
“I can’t help but think about Anastacia and Brody at this age..” she whispers. ” I miss her Charming..”
Sno cuddles Calvin in her bed, while Charming comes over to the bed and puts his arm around her. He kisses her forehead and replies, “I know love. I miss her too.”
