After finding myself addicted to yet another aspect of the sims, downloading terrains, I had to have SC4. Since purchasing it I've gone a bit nutty and my original plans for SC4 have long since been chucked out the window as my obsession takes the drivers seat. I blame my new found addiction on all the other fabulous creators who had to take the sims just one step further, pulling me along with their designs. Maxis aught to be paying you guys for strumming up so much business for them. *grin*
I strongly urge you to use a camera hack to get the full use of this terrain. Myself I use Gunmods but whatever works for you will do fine I'm sure. Make sure to create a backup of your camera folder first though, as when installing any hacks you should make backups!
Installation is simple:
Unzip this file into your sc4terrains folder, "My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/SC4Terrains", Load up the Sims and create your new NH. As you scroll the list you will find the file name, click it, name your new city, pick a terrain type, and get busy building the land of your dreams.
Green lines in your NH menu buggin ya? You have 2 options...
1. you can use the supplied png images that you just installed to match your chosen terrain type.
Replace the picture (.png) file in the neighborhood folder (theres only 1 there and its green lined) with one of the .png files from your sc4 terrains folder, (the ones you just installed). To replace it, copy the file that agrees with your terrain choice, then go to the NH folder and paste it. Rename the pasted file to 'N0XX_Neighborhood.png' the N0XX being the NH number which will replace the one that was already there. If thats to confusing, just rename it same as the green lined png thats in the NH folder. And poof, next load has your picture there.
OR you could..
2. Build your NH up a bit, then take a snapshot (medium size, high grade photo). Go to the storytelling folder and find that picture you just took. Open it up in paintshop or whatever graphics program ya love and resize to 300x225, sharpen it up a bit, and save it as 'N0XX_Neighborhood.png' in the NH folder your working with. Next time you boot sims up you should find a clip of YOUR town there instead of a blank region.
I'll let you decide that though. *wink*
My road layouts where given a great deal of thought, to accomidate 'common' house/business layouts. I also opted to make areas useful for decorative lots (useless lil buggers that do nothing but look pretty in the NH) and the 1x3 is great for that. Some of my terrains are designed to accomidate the waterfalls and wave crashes as well. Anyhow, Thank you for downloading, I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did creating it.
See you in Simland!
