Queen’s Hamlet – The Guard’s House by Tatiana

This is a 5x4 lot valued at $142,877 and comes fully furnished with both Maxis & my content.
This specific package has been played/tested for 2 days. In that time all of the gardens were plant & tended for your enjoyment.



The Guard's House is part of "Le Hameau de la Reine" or the "Queen's Hamlet Collection which was a little village that Marie Antoinette had built so that she could retire from her public life at court. The hamlet also added a sense of country surroundings to Le Petit Trianon as both were situated in the park of the Estate of Versailles. Many of the buildings were meant for show and though they looked rustic on the outside they had every luxury that a lady of the court could desire on the inside. Each building also had their own little garden whose layout I have recreated here with the aid of satellite photos.

It is interesting to note that in present day, The Guard's House is occupied by the hamlet's grounds keeper.

The detailing on the walls is authentic to the house as you can see from the actual photos.

The interiors are luxurious for a guard but rather rustic for a queen & her court favourites. The paintings are by Fragonard, LeBrun & Watteau.

The gardens have already been planted by a Master Gardener. Though not appropriate to the period I did put in an irrigation system since the gardens are quite large. The pond is stocked with fish. The lot also includes apple & lemon trees.
