Mandalay Shores-Beach Retreat

For the second installment of my Mandalay series, I was going for a less urban, more rustic and 'lived-in' look. Some might say i went overboard with the whole crawling-vines-on-the-stone-walls thing but that was purely intentional on my part. I wanted to evoke a similar feeling [in a sense] to that of Miss Havisham's estate in Alfonso Cuaron's '98 remake of Great Expectations -- that of a 'once lovely, now forgotten place' that might be overtaken by grassy overgrowth that adds a charming, mysterious, and historical appeal to it. Call it 'a diamond in the rough'...

This beach house has front and back porches [the former for your sims that want to watch townies pass by, the latter for sims that prefer to watch the waves] on the lower level as well as 3 en-suite bedrooms. Additionally, theres a screened in porch w/ swing doors that can serve as a game room or sleeping porch, or WHATEVER you want to make it. The Main Level has the Great Room that has the living area, dining, and kitchen all together. The 2nd Level boasts an L-shaped deck, both with covered and uncovered areas. This house has nearly/practically as much outdoor living space as it does indoors! I also took liberties in 'peppering' this level with lovely gambrel roofing I found at Sims2cri.com. It gives the feeling of being in a boat. The abundant glass windows that give a spectacular vista of the ocean also add to this feeling. Finally, the winding staircase on the Main level leads to an observation tower where your alien-obsessed sims can try to summon aliens.

SPECIAL NOTE: 1) This lot is unfurnished but if you're interested in some of the custom content featured in the screen shots, refer to the additional credits below where I list down the names of the creators and the collection file titles plus links; 2) The driveway and driveway extension are not included in the package file but the suspended Fence Arches object file by Numenor is -- though strangely enough the computer didn't read the file..
