The Barclay Townhouse

This contemporary 4 story townhouse, with sunken garage, three bedrooms and a roof deck, fits on a narrow 20x30 lot.



Squeezed between two large rancher lots, Mr. Barclay decided to build a vertical-space solution to this tight lot. A half-sunk garage sits underneath this three-story very urban home with high ceilings and plenty of street interaction.

Mr. Barclay commissioned Wu + Hu Architects to design this home for him and his two teenage children. The house was designed to give the kids their own 'wing' of the house and direct access to the roof floor and deck.

The garage not completely underground, which makes the main level slightly elevated. There is a short sloped driveway leading to the road.

Requirements: The Sims 3. You will also need to have installed EA Store sets Bayside Set and Ultra Lounge Set to get the look pictured in the screenshots, but it's not necessary to play the lot.

Notes: This house uses higher than normal ceilings which created a set of interesting challenges. Everything but the garage doors were tested so everything should be working. There is a slight issue on one of the stairways where the sim will slightly dip below the floor when leaving the stairs, but it still worked. If people are having any issues please let me know.

I originally built this as a duplex, but have found out multi-family living doesn't really work that well in Sims 3.. yet. So I just made it a single household home.

This design was again inspired by a home in my city... actually alot of them as this is based on a rowhouse design.
