Villa Leopolda is located in Villefranche-sur-Mer on the French Riviera. It was originally built for King Leopold II of Belgium in the early 1900s. It was put up for sale in 2008 for 750 million dollars making it the most expensive home in the world if sold. A russian billionaire was going to buy it and put down a payment on it for 50 million $. After the ecconomic crisis later in the year he couldn't afford it anymore so he lost his down payment. I'm not sure if it was ever sold but it might have been sold to Bill Gates.
