Whitehall Grange is a large old home, recently restored from top to bottom. The house has 5 bedrooms, 2 servant's bedrooms in the attic, 3 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms, 4 reception rooms, a formal dining room, a kitchen, a sunroom, 2 tack rooms, a stable and 5 porches/balconies to make the most of the outside. As mentioned, there is a stable and so this lot should be ready to house, I think I added all that is required.
I originally built this house to help me with a story I started writing but never really finished, as you will see in the spoiler below.
As Charlotte Christie turned the key to her new apartment in a high rise in Bridgeport, she felt a cool breeze brush through her dark brown hair and down her slightly tanned white skin; she wondered what surprises would be in store for her in the city. But she wasn’t prepared for the visions that would be conjured from the sight of seeing her fluffy white cat Tibbins eyeing up the birds on the balcony of her apartment which must have been at least 20 floors up. She dropped the bouquet of flowers she had just bought outside the lobby of the high-rise, and ran across the empty apartment to push the window closed before the visions could materialise. It was in that moment that she realised that tossing caution to the wind and leaving the suburbs of Sunsetvalley for the city of Bridgeport with a cat in tow, but at least leaving was better than staying there, in that place, just like a sitting duck. She had about an hour before the moving trucks with all her possessions and furniture would be reaching the city limits, so she grabbed the laptop from her bag and was soon searching for an alternative, she trawled the internet for places to live and it wasn’t long before she stumbled across an advert for a vacancy in a boarding house way out west in the countryside, she briefly researched the quaint little town before deciding that that was the place for her. Within minutes she had contacted the boarding house and the moving truck with directions on where to meet her and where to go for the boarding house, understandably the movers were a little disgruntled, but after all, Charlotte was the one paying them. Maybe her old pickup would come in handy after all.
...The Drive seemed to take hours, Charlotte passed field after field, everything seemed very similar, but there were many small rural towns, all of them with their charms, but still not the one she was heading to. Each time one would appear on the horizon she would hold her breath in hope that they were the one, but each time they weren’t, she’d then glance in her rear view mirror to check that the moving trucks were still there, before looking down at the passenger seat beside her to see Tibbins in his cage on the seat, sleeping. Another rural town appeared on the horizon, this time she held her hand out the window and signalled to the moving trucks that they would be stopping in the town. “Riverview” appeared on a roadside billboard, Charlotte was hungry, and both her and Tibbins needed to get out and stretch their legs. Once in the town she found a rather appealing 50’s Diner, it looked like it hadn’t changed since it was first built. Whilst inside she got a sandwich and a coffee, she sat outside on a bench and ate them whilst she watched Tibbins prance around on the lawn nearby. The town seemed pleasant and the locals that she saw seemed friendly but still, it wasn’t the town she was after. There was a large, weathered and very creepy looking mansion on one of the hills above the town; it had a dominant presence that seemed to drive shivers down her spine. It reminded her very much of the Goth’s Mansion back in Sunsetvalley. And with that thought she left, she got back on the road in her pickup with Tibbins by her side and the moving trucks behind her. Even as she pulled away from Riverview, that old house loomed in her rear view mirror, the sun setting behind it.
...As she pulled up into the drive of the guest house she spotted a young couple passionately embracing on the front porch, although once the young man spotted her he pulled away from the young woman and left swiftly; across the lawns and over a picket fence. Charlotte pulled up by the porch and got out, the moving trucks pulled up the drive behind her, partly on the front lawns. She strolled up to the front porch and greeted the young woman on the front porch. As she showed her around the grand old Victorian boarding house; with its numerous verandas, balconies, painted weather boarding, varnished wood panelling in almost all internal rooms, there was an element of arrogance in the young woman, she acted as if she owned the house, even though she was just the letting agent, she later revealed to Charlotte that she also owned a big old house and that Charlotte simply must come and see it and that she hoped they would become good friends during Charlotte’s stay in Appaloosa Plains. Before she left, Charlotte asked the young woman whether there was anywhere she could store some of her furniture which clearly would have no space in her room at the boarding house, to which the woman directed her to another young woman in the town, whom she said has some sheds just outside of town which would do perfectly for storing some of her stuff until she had her own place in town.
...It would not be long before she did find herself her own place in town. It was a warm hazy summer’s evening; Charlotte was walking back from the storage sheds, which were once an old petrol station, when she encountered a wild horse. The horse came bounding up to her, enticing her to follow it down the old road which ran by the petrol station and down the hill towards the river. The horse had quite a pace, one which Charlotte struggled to keep up with. Soon she had left the road and was deep in some undergrowth. The horse was nowhere in sight and Charlotte felt very lost, she had only ventured out to this side of town a couple of times since moving into the boarding house last week. She weaved through the undergrowth until she found herself back on the road further down the hill. The horse stood across the road, almost eager to see her. Although the horse wasn’t the only thing which was facing Charlotte in anticipation from the other side of the road. A proud old house stood very weathered in amongst an overgrown garden with the sun setting across the river behind it. The house had clearly been painted white sometime in the past, and its shutters black, although most of the paint had since weathered and flaked away. Spanish moss draped from the bows of grand old oak trees and also from various porches which hugged the house. It was almost as if the white steed had led her to this very house. Charlotte crossed the road which clearly hadn’t been used in years. She approached the horse a stroked its face. Then she turned to the house. She drew closer to the picket fences which had become overrun by brambles and kudzu. She pried the gates open and proceeded up the stone path which was almost entirely cover by weeds and dried grass. The steps up to the front porch creaked but bore her weight as she ascended to the front door. It was locked and the windows were caked in grime, but what she could see of the interior looked very promising, furniture and all. But clearly not lived in quite a while. She turned and looked back across the garden to the road. The horse had gone. Charlotte felt a sudden chill in a brief breeze; she went back down the stairs and began to walk back down the path, until she froze. In amongst the long grass and kudzu there was a sign, clearly it had been there a while as from some angles it was completely hidden from view by the grass and kudzu. But the sign bore a message which simply read “For Sale”, although the red writing was faded and covered in grime. From that moment on things began to fall into place for Charlotte Christie, the house was swiftly purchased although the estate agent couldn’t understand why on earth she would want to buy such a “dump”. The garden was hacked back to reveal a remarkably stable house, and yet again the house stood proudly against a setting sun on a warm summer’s day, finally it had room to breathe. Charlotte proceeded to fix up the house in between working shifts at the local hospital; she had always planned on becoming a nurse, but never on buying an old house. She had fallen for the house’s charms; it only needed a lick of paint and fresh wall paper in some rooms. Obviously the windows needed a good clean, but the whole house scrubbed up well. And with a fresh coat of paint on the exterior, it finally looked like it did in the old photos Charlotte found in the attic, even down to the bathroom suite and the kitchen cabinets.
...Around town Charlotte continued to see the letting agent with the young man, although they seemed more suspicious. Charlotte later came to discover that the young man was married, and not to the letting agent....
The house was built on a 40 by 30 lot, costing 165,704 Simoleons furnished or 105,721 Simoleons unfurnished.
I'd like to thank all of you over at the Creator Feedback Forum who helped me get this house looking the way it does, especially lulume, SimmyRN and Johnny Bravo. Thanks a lot, all of you. This house wouldn't be looking so good without you!

About Me
Well, what can i say, I enjoy playing Sims. Please feel free to use and enjoy my creations, all i ask in return is that you do not re-upload them to other sites claiming them as your own. Thank You. I greatly appreciate feedback and hope that my lots are to your liking.
P.S. It would be very interesting to see pics of what you've done with the lots I have created, and the kinds of sims you've got living there, Or if they've been used in stories. But most importantly... Have Fun!!!
