Description
These are overrides of the MODL resources (listed below) for every base game ceiling light, including the locked career reward ones, in order to stop them fading in Live Mode. I’ve been using this in my game for about a week and have been happy with it, but let me know if you have any problems (and please read carefully about the known issue below).
Known Issue
The lights appear to switch back to the style of their default swatch when you move the camera farther away. For some lights it happens at about (or a bit farther away than) what I would consider a normal playing distance; for others, it happens at a point so far away you probably wouldn’t ever notice. The second two pictures show the distances at which the first and last lights makes the switch. The rest go at various points in between.
I don’t know how to fix it right now, so if it’s an issue for you then you probably shouldn’t download this (or just use this for picture-taking and remove it for gameplay). But I’ve seen more than a few people talking about the annoying vanishing lights recently, so I thought this might be useful even with the issue. Hopefully there will be a solution to that soon, and if you think you have one please do post about it somewhere on the Create forum, such as in this thread I started.
These were made with game version 1.4.83.
Updated Info for Version 1.5.139
This patch stops object fading in the Tab Camera mode. However, they still fade at the same distance in Live Mode. So that means you can take out this mod if you'd prefer your lights to only stop fading with the Tab Camera.
Update for Get to Work
I added the ceiling lights from the Get to Work expansion pack. Again, since 1.5.139 ceiling lights have faded in the Tab Camera mode; you only need this if you want to stop them fading in Live Mode as well.
Update 1/24/16
Because I no longer have a Windows partition for my Mac, I am not sure when/if I will be able to update this mod for the newer packs. If someone else picks it up, I will add a link here.
