Why are these so big! :(

Welcome to the Windenburg Cathedral of the Peteran Faith! This important piece of Windenburg history is now up for sale. If you wish to read about the cathedral's history, click the button below. It ties in with a previous upload of mine, the Hall of Flames estate. If you are just here to enjoy my build, that is fine as well, but I promise the story behind it will add to the beauty of this build!
Description
During the high of Windenburg's development a few of the founding families got together to build this beautiful place of faith. These patrons, Jacob Bearson, Erline Von Vuur, Bonnie Vischer, and Alain Borde, used their fortunes combined to build this masterpiece. Its clocktowers can be seen from all corners of Windenburg, much alike Lady Erline Von Vuur's estate, which she lovingly named the Hall of Flames. She specifically built her home on a nearby hill to be able to see the cathedral from her windows.
Exterior
The first parts of this beautiful building were established back during the Simlish Dark Ages. It was naught but a simple hut where a Peteran priest converted local sims to the Peteran faith, bestowing The Watcher's blessing upon them.
Over the course of hundreds of years this small hut transformed into a majestic, yet simplistic cathedral. Officially named the Windenburg Catheral of the Peteran Belief, the faiths practiced here have long since diverted from purely the Peteran belief. Sims of the Jacoban faith and all other religions can now also come here to pray in peace. As such the church no longer displays the Peteran flags and sigils, but instead boasts a colourful butterfly to symbolise Windenburg's freedom of faith.
Recently some awful vandalists destroyed the cathedral's original, gorgeous front door. The late owner decided to have it replaced with a simplified, glass variant since there was no budget to recreate the original heavy wooden door.
The cathedral is surrounded by multiple ancient trees and lots, and I say lots of vegation. There is a gazebo for a private meeting, a graveyard, a little communal sitting area, and two ponds where you can freely fish. However, among the bushes and many many flowers an overgrown gate can be seen, with a well behind it. The late owner of the cathedral had the gate locked for visitors, but nobody really knows why. Maybe the new owner will finally let people come close to the strange well..

Interior
The interior is as simple as the exterior. With two transept chapels dedicated to a Jacoban priest and a Peteran priestess, and a nave to peacefully pray to your god there is enough place for the whole town of Windenburg to fit inside the cathedral. At the back of a cathedral the ground opens up into the basement and catacombs below which are free to be explored by visitors.
The basement is not that special, but be sure to view the Peteran and Jacoban shrines located in coves along the hallways. Furthermore there is a napping place for any priests and priestesses, a storage for paintings and the cathedral's records, as well a place to honour the cathedral's patrons.
Catacombs
Because of their dedication to the cathedral each of the patrons were given a resting place in the building's catacombs. To this day you can visit each one of them. The sarcophaguses are identified by their respective owner's family sigils placed in the coves. There is one unidentified tomb though. Local legend has it that it is where the first Peteran priestess has been laid to rest, however this has yet to be confirmed. There are no recognised records validating this legend, but people do not seem to mind.
Graveyard
To the left of the cathedral, behind the pond, sits a small graveyard. The cathedral's top donators and other important lords and ladies have been buried here through the ages. For a steep price your sims can also be buried here, as there is still place for new graves (after some of the vegetation has been removed).

Sitting Area
To the right of the cathedral is a comfortable, beautiful resting place with a spot for children to play and a fountain to sit at. People say if you throw a coin into the fountain The Watcher will surely bestow a blessing upon you!
Information for the buyer
As most of the founding families have died out and the late priest finally succumbed to the wrath of time the cathedral has found itself on the real estate market. For a modest price tag this building can be yours. The tops of the two clocktowers have been transformed into a simple, but comfortable apartment which can be locked to keep out visitors.

More information
Since the cathedral is now up for sale, here is a list of assets that come with the property.
- Cathedral
- Graveyard
- Gazebo
- Communal sitting area
- Two ponds for fishing
- Owner's apartment
- Two priest(ess) bedrooms
- Office
- Storage room
- Public toilets
- Catacombs with six tombs.
The cathedral is currently not suitable as a wedding venue. The previous owner got cheated on and despite being a man of faith, he discouraged marriage strongly. A new owner can easily place a wedding arch and add other facilities to change this though!
The entire building, the graveyard and the catacombs are placed under the protection of the Town of Windenburg as they are important to its history.

- The lot is listed as a park, but can be easily changed to any other sort of community lot, or even a residential lot. The cathedral has been play tested and all areas are accessible (so far as I know).
- Because the lot is listed as park I had to add a jungle gym. Since those nasty buggers are so ungodly huge I've decided to bury it deep underground, far away from sight. I did it because it doesn't fit on the lot and would ruin the scenery. You can easily place it somewhere on the lot if you still wish it to be there! There are monkey bars for your kids to have fun on anyway!
- I strongly recommend placing the cathedral furnished. Placing it unfurnished results in the street lanterns and many garden decoration objects (like the ponds) getting mercilessly deleted, leaving it looking plain and boring. However it does look scary when the building is empty, so if you're into that go ahead!
- Do not reupload to the gallery/MTS/any other website.
- There's a glitch with the front door. Just like with my estate, it disappears when viewing the full building. I really wish they'd fix that bug already, gosh
- It is a BIG lot, and you will need a good computer to run the game smoothly when the lot is loaded. If you do not have a good pc, I suggest deleting some if not most of the bushes. This'll probably significantly increase your FPS!
Custom Content
The cathedral does NOT require CC, however I have used one mod to place the headstones and urns around the lot, which is Snaitf's buyable graves. You can easily download the lot without the mod, but the graves I placed with it will be deleted. Aesthetically it won't change much, because I did build physical graves for every headstone I placed. (Three graves will remain in the graveyard because I placed those with the buydebug cheat).
Last but not least be sure to enjoy! If you have any requests for big ol' buildings like these leave a comment and maybe I can try to build it! Also be absolutely sure to check out Hall of Flames as it is a sister-built to this lot. Their stories intertwine!
Lot Size: 64x64
