Homework Assignment Mod: In an unmodded game, teens and children are unable to properly put their homework down on desks, especially if the desk is placed in a particular way. If the desk already had an object on it, or if a teen/child puts their homework on the desk before another teen/child does, the game then makes the second sim drop their homework on the ground, rather than pushing them to find another desk. In addition, teens and children are unable to put their homework down on dining tables, but young adults can. This is because Maxis coded the university assignment better than the teen/child homework. Another issue is that sims learn how to study very quickly, and also it takes a very short amount of time to finish homework. This entire thing is very annoying, so I made this mod.

This mod makes it so that teens and children are now able to put their homework down properly. If a sim can't put their homework on a surface for any reason, they will try to find another surface. Sims are also now able to put their homework on dining tables, just like young adults in university, and also just like in Sims 3/4.

This mod also makes it so that doing homework/assignments takes much longer than usual. In addition, sims take a much longer time to learn how to study. If the teacher is a Knowledge sim, the rate is increased a bit. If the learner is a Knowledge sim, the rate is also increased a bit. Both the teacher's and learner's Logic skill contributes a little bit. It is important to learn to study, as that improves the rate quite nicely. It also affects the rate at which sims do their university assignments in university.
Placement Version: There is now a separate version of this mod called Placement Version. This version does not modify the rate at which homework/assignment is done, and only allows children and teens to properly put their homework down on desks and dining tables.

UPDATE 12: Sims would sometimes not be able to put their homework down properly when they were trying to put their homework on another homework on a desk or dining table. This is now fixed.
UPDATE 11: This mod is now much better at allowing sims to put their homework on desks. If your sims were sometimes not able to put their homework on a desk, now they should be able to as long as they are able to route somewhat close to the desk.
UPDATE 10:
- Decreased the effect of Logic skill a bit, and made it so that if the teacher is a Knowledge sim, then the student learns how to study much faster.
- There was an issue that sometimes prevented the mod from finding the bed with the highest relationship if the bed in question was a double bed. This is now fixed.
UPDATE 9: The mod now skips desks which don't have room for the homework object.
UPDATE 8: This update is for both versions. In this update, I have added one more feature to how children and teens place their homework. When a child/teen arrives home from school, the game now first checks to see if the sim has any relationship with any bed on the lot, if so the game pushes to sim to place their homework on the closest desk which is in the same room as the child/teen's favourite bed. If the sim can't place their homework on the desk, or if there are no desks and so on, then the regular code is run, and the sim places their homework on an available surface. This "closest desk to favourite bed" feature is not enabled for young adults, because it doesn't make sense for them, as the player can order their sim to do their assignment any time they want, and also it is a good idea to allow young adults to do their assignment in the communal areas outside their room so that other sims can tutor them later if they don't complete their assignment.
UPDATE 7: Being in Downtown does not increase the rate, but high/middle-class lots still slightly increase the rate. This update makes it so that the sim's Logic skill also increases the rate at which they finish doing homework.
UPDATE 6: This update is only for the Full Version. Sims complete homework a bit faster on Downtown lots. The rate is also increased if the lot is high-class or middle-class. The rate is obviously higher on high-class lots than on low-class lots.
UPDATE 5: This update is only for the Full Version. I have made it a bit easier for sims to learn to study.
UPDATE 4: Children should be able to more reliably place their homework on desks now.
UPDATE 3: This is an important update for both versions.
- For both versions, this update makes it so that sims will not put their homework on a dining table slot that does not have a dining chair.
- For the full version, the rate at which sims do their homework is not affected any more by this mod. Only the rate at which sims learn to study is affected.
UPDATE 2: This update is only for the Full Version. I found out that Maxis originally seems to have intended for sims to be able to teach themselves how to study. That's why I made it so that they could learn to study on their own in the previous update. Now I found out that the code for the memory of learning to study is set to fail if there is no teacher. That's why I'm taking that feature back. Sims can't learn how to study on their own.
UPDATE 1:
- I found out that sims can learn to study while being taught in university, too. This update makes learning to study in university more difficult just like the teen/child homework, but the rate is potentially a bit higher for university assignments.
- Sims are now able to learn to study on their own, but the rate is extremely slow.

Homework Help Mod: This mod fixes certain issues with helping sims with their homework/assignment.
- Sims can only request help to do their own homework now, and other sims can only help a sim if the homework belongs to that sim.
- The owner sim and the potential teacher need to be on the lot for pie-menu options to appear. If the potential teacher is an apartment neighbour, they need to be within the currently played apartment to appear as a potential teacher in the pie-menu.
- This mod fixes an issue that regularly makes the teacher throw a route failure tantrum and unable to route properly near the homework to help the sim. Sims should be better at routing near the homework object now.
- Teens can now receive help from other teens, but only as long as the teacher has higher grades than the pupil. Tara can help Justin with his stupid homework now.
