Post-Industrial Series: 337 Worker Avenue (no CC, Residential with a Grocery Shop)

This building was built in 1887. It served as a part of the residential area for the middle management/employed specialists of the local factories, but it was also occasionally inhabited by middle class lawyers and bookkeepers. Close enough to the factories so that it was fast to get there, far enough to hear no noise from the huge clusters of the production area. The building was inhabited by three families at one time. Each of them was of a similar financial status and income, rather well-off back then, compared to the other people from the area. The flats would change owners sometimes, but the fluctuation was not as big compared to the lower-class buildings. It was a safe place to live in, and during the Great Wars, the building only suffered a minor damage. It has never been abandoned for too long, and it is very well preserved.


A few decades after the Wars, the factories slowly started deteriorating and the old Middle management residential area was starting to partially lose its charm as well. Most inhabitants were already old and retired. If a neighbour died, the other building inhabitant, who was still alive, would sometimes buy the deceased one's apartment (or simply the part of the building that he or she owned) for a really low price. And this is how a certain percentage of the former apartment townhouses ended up belonging to only one family. This building is one of them. It still has signs of being a former apartment building, but it is to be inhabited by a single family.


A large portion of the furniture and equipment inside is old-fashioned, but the house itself is comfortable and convenient. It has a grocery shop that your family can run. It also has a very well-kept small garden with playthings for children and the house is prepared to accommodate a dog or two.


The grocery shop is fully equipped and ready to open, besides food, it also offers supplies for your pet, gifts you can give to your loved ones, and a lot more to enjoy!


You can use this house for creating stories with your Sims. It is a great option for an entrepreneurial family that is also somewhat nostalgic about the good old days in the Post-industrial Area and enjoys mingling with the local community in their grocery store. On top of that, this is a good option for some artistic Sims, it has a workshop/studio and a very-well equipped kitchen.
