6 Store Guitars made Electric

YOU NEED AT LEAST ONE OF THE GUITARS IN THE MOD TO SEE A DIFFERENCE. None are provided as that'd be against the rules.
It probably won't break anything if you don't, but it'd be a very pointless install.

Having seen a wonderful mod for the guitar in the Decades pack that had the same issue as I had with some store guitars, I read the comments and saw how it was done. You can find the mod that made this one possible here:
70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff Electric Guitar MOD and also fix up that cool guitar if you got that pack! It is really just one line change per each. You can even find the line used there in case you want more electric guitars.

If you have these neat store guitars you were probably in my place. Put em down, get that cool rockin' Sim over to one expecting to see an electric guitar amp and proper electric guitar audio come on, only to get the acoustic sound. I get it, some of these items probably predate the introduction of the electric guitar in High End Loft Stuff. You gotta wonder if they may have come after, the data for electric guitars is in the base game, so it wouldn't have been an issue, but either laziness or perhaps just how they were told to make the objects, they are all acoustics. Now the store had some guitars that looked the acoustic part, at least to me, so those are left as is.

Now for the reason you are here, You get 6 guitars fixed up. Well rather you get just one aspect of the guitars, you need to own these, I only changed one small aspect In theory this should work if you only have one or a few of the guitars. It will not give any you are missing.

The images do show which but probably don't have the right names, and as of typing this I cannot recall their actual in game names, but the images show them as they are right from Buy Mode, if it helps any. Nothing else except a simple change in the OBJK aspect of these items, which tells the game "No these aren't acoustics, they are electrics, place the amp and use the electric guitar sounds."

As for the amps, I do believe they take from the last slot's color/texture in CAS to determine their appearance, I didn't touch these exact ones in my example screenshots within CAS so you can see how they usually look in game, but I did notice with another Sim, her nearly all Red Guitar gave the amp a nice shade of red.


So in short, makes electric looking guitars actually electric now. You don't get any guitar you don't already have. The electric guitar data is in the base game.


UPDATE 7/21/23: With my new install the guitar fixes I did weren't working for some reason, so I made another set, my source for Store files was different, that was probably why. So if the first version does not work for you, use the second. Not both. Most users will be set with the first one, as I have yet to see anyone have issues besides myself.
