Ever played TS4 Get to Work EP and visited the secret alien world of Sixam and wished you could also do that in TS2? Well, I’ve got something for you then!

Welcome to Sixam!

Sixam Academy is a prestigious intergalactic university on the planet of Sixam that provides special training for aspiring students to become Birth Queens, Colony Drones, or even the latest innovation in alien technology: Pollination Technicians. The academy offers hands-on experiences, collaborative research, and cultural exploration, alongside interstellar expeditions, nurturing a community focused on curiosity, inclusivity, and innovation.

Yes, I recreated the secret alien world from TS4 for TS2 as a custom university subhood! Why as a university subhood you may ask? Well, I tried to keep the original vibes of Sixam of it being an "unlockable"/visitable place your sims can explore as much as they want before returning to their homeworld.

How can you do that you may ask? Well, after graduation, you can make your sims stay in the university subhood and "unlock" Sixam using Lamare's YAs can enjoy maternity (and all that) mod, as well as Lamare's Pets at University mod! That way, you could still play your sims as you would normally do in a main hood, i.e. have them age, get jobs, get married, have children, raise them until they're teens and finally send them to college again. You may also just return to your hometown anytime you want, just bear in mind that it's one way though, so there's no way back! ^^

While technically it's a university, it could easily also be just a downtown or a main hood, as it includes quite a few urban city-style residential & community lots that a main hood/downtown would also otherwise have... just all in sci-fi/alien theme, of course! I made this without Apartment Life EP, so TS2 Super Collection users can also use it, but in the future, I might also make an alternative version as an actual downtown with apartment lots!

Speaking of "original vibes", it's always night here on Sixam, just like in TS4! Not only does this neighborhood has a custom skybox, but also its own custom lighting file that makes all lots in this neighborhood night. ^^

Update (June 8th, 2025)

Gameplay Info:
  • While no camera mod is needed to see all lots in neighborhood view, I still recommend getting one, as some lots are build on skyscrapers, so it may get challenging to play at such heights with just the vanilla camera.
  • Features a custom skybox and a custom lighting file that will make Sixam nighttime all the time! You'll also see some slightly seasonal changes where you'd see more reddish colors in Autumn, bluish colors in Winter and more greenish colors in Spring. Oh, and don't worry about your other neighborhoods, they won't be affected. This is only specific to the lots on Sixam. So, your Pleasantview, Strangetown, Veronaville lots should still have the regular lighting, even if you'd add Sixam as a subhood. To apply the lighting file for other lots, you need to use the cheat setLotLightingFile "sixam_lot.txt" for it to actually appear on new lots, lol.
  • Apart from the skybox and the custom lighting file, no CC was used to build the lots. So, the empty version should be CC free. As for the inhabited version, the 3 alien skintones (blue/turquoise/violet) from my [4t2] Aliens from TS4 Get to Work EP upload are required, as I still wanted to keep the TS4 aliens, especially Aileen Rauvu, as they are in TS2. I feel like their skintone is part of their personality, so, if I just replaced the blue/turquoise/violet skintone of some of the characters with the default green one, I feel it’d be as equally bad as white washing for me. Like replacing Olive Specter‘s dark skintone with a light one. BUT, I can understand that some may wish to not have any CC skintone in their games. So, for them, I also made an alternative CC free version where they'd just have the default green skintone instead.
  • Speaking of which, I also recreated some characters from TS4, especially all the characters from the The Sims 4 Get to Work: Sul Sul trailer. Every character comes with a complete set of ancestors (at least parents) and customized memories, even townies and NPCs! Some also come with interesting lore! Even though, they're just... townies! Oh, and everyone has genetic infant faces! Yayy! XD
  • The number of playable sims seems underwhelming at first but once you explore the neighborhood, you're most likely going to encounter some familiar faces, like the time traveler Emit Relevart from TS3 Into the Future or other familiar faces from TS4, like Nova Curious. So, I'd recommend moving in some of them and "unlock" them that way. Some characters made it to Sixam by "accidental" abduction, some deliberately wanted to get there, and some are on a mission... XD
  • Speaking of playable families, scripted events don't work in university subhoods, but I wrote a text in each family description that somewhat mimic the scripted event notifications anyway. I think this is a brilliant and fun way of introducing new characters, even in university subhoods. All households should also have a complete set of family album pictures that show their lore a bit.
  • Oh, and I made lecture halls for every major, which you could use with beestew's Active Classes mod! These are community lots, owned by the professor NPC sim, that have equipment for building skills (mostly career rewards of the careers that are associated with the major), as well as some space where your sims can study. Your sims can also ask their professor for tutoring, which should be easy since the professor should be there all the time when you're on that community lot.

Recommended Mods:
  • All notownieregen/antiredudancy/nodormiespawn/nossrespawn mods. I made sure that all university townies/NPCs are aliens.. or at least have a very good reason why they're there, so that you get the full Sixam experience! But this can easily be ruined if you don't have these mods installed. Technically, you should be greeted with fully populated dorms (even if you just move in one sim) and have customized alien university NPCs when visiting community lots if everything works as intended.
  • bloodredtoe's Mannequin babies can be born mod. To have more variety, I used the mannequin skintone for some of the alien sims. While this mod isn't required, it's recommended to prevent crashes, especially when these aliens have offspring, as there's a chance they could inherit the mannequin skintone.
  • Squinge's No Townie Memory Loss. Again, townies and NPCs in this neighborhood are highly customized and I recommend getting no townie amnesia mods to prevent their lore from getting wiped out! As there are a few clues in the bios of some of the townies... including long lost twins!
  • lingeringwillx's Restore Default Names for Sims in Subneighbohoods . This is especially helpful, not only because the townies/NPCs are related to the playable sims, but also, it will help to maintain the alien atmosphere of Sixam with names like Pollination Technicians, Colony Drones or Birth Queens, etc. instead of having EA's default townie/NPC names.

That's it for now I guess? Oh and if I missed anyone, please let me know so I can add you to the list! Otherwise, have fun! I hope you like this neighborhood! <3
