Here is a 1940s summer dress with a Peter Pan collar and bowtie. It was inspired by an outfit I found at an online vintage clothing store (and despite being careful to take down URLs as I browse, I've lost the link to this one!) The original was yellow with yellow accents, but the white collar and ruffles stood out better, so I changed them. While the real life dress was dated to the forties, it could probably pass for thirties attire as well.
Historical costuming is a hobby of mine, so I'm trying to bridge the skinning gap where we have great period styles until the mid-1920s and then very little else until the 1950s. The thirties and forties are really pretty rich sources for gorgeous stuff. (Most of my play occurs in my historical neighborhood, which is currently stuck in the late Edwardian period.) I've got more 1940s suits and bias-cut slips, etc. that I hope to get out later this week.
The Downloads
A lot of the stuff I see from that era has a slightly martial design, so I made it in navy blue, olive green, tan, and grey. Jewel tones were also popular, so I threw in a kelly green and grape purple, too. The rest are pastels-- yellow, blue, pink, green, and a very pale lilac. All have white trim and white shoes-- our Sims being in eternal summer and all.
Everything is in one RAR, but you can filter it all out after you download. They use a Maxis mesh from the original game, so there shouldn't be any compatibility problems (I don't know if it goes for YAs). All filenames start with "loli1940s" followed by the dress color.
Other stuff
Upload 'em to the exchange, use the alphas for whatever, copy a part for another skin and upload that somewhere... I don't really care, so long as you give me credit somewhere along the line. It'd be nice if you'd PM me then, too, but not required.
There aren't any bump maps, because my pitiful laptop doesn't support normals.
If you'd like any other colors, just put a request in this thread and I'll work on it.
