Akira Class Starship

The Akira Class starship was developed in the late 2360's and production began on the Akira project in 2371. Designated a heavy cruiser, its main purpose was as a much-needed replacement for the Excelsior, Ambassador and New Orleans classes. The Akira project, along with the development of the Steamrunner, Prometheus and Norway classes, marked a new trend in starship production. By the mid-2370's, Starfleet's main objective was to developing light, manuverable starships capable of carrying out a variety of missions.
Built on a 4x4 lot, only minimal furnishing is included. (I wanted to upload a fully furnished lot, but file size prevented that from happening) I've included 3 new furniture meshes: a functional engineering console, a functional astrometrics console, and a Prometheus class duty chair (A teaser for an upcoming project) I'd developed a few other meshes for this lot/Starfleet in general but again, there wasn't enough file space.
It can easily hold a crew of 8-10. The deckplan has a simple, 1-level layout.

Main deck- Bridge, ready room, mess, transporter room, engineering, astrometrics, observation lounge, science, sickbay, rec room, holodeck, crew lounge, non-essential systems
