Completely Themed and Recolored UI Mod - Important Update on 8/5/09!!

ATTENTION! It was brought to my attention that I had a double file! If you Downloaded "9_AptLife_2_Starfleet_UIrecolor" before this date - 8/4/09 then please re-Download! I am so sorry for the mix-up!!


This has to be the single most time-consuming project I've ever worked on!! There were hundreds of files to recolor, and then not only taking pictures of the sims but posing them correctly added to my insanity...LOL...but in the end I am quite pleased with the result!

I bring you....drum roll please....

The very first completely recolored and themed UI Recolor!

You are either going to love it, or hate it, but at least I'm hoping to make you all say "WOW!"


All of these files go into your Downloads folder! (except for the Main Logo Extra) Do not replace all of your original files! I did not recolor everything, as it was impossible to do that, therefore if you replace your originals your game will not work correctly, as it will be missing the files that I did not recolor!! If you do replace them, and your game crashes, please understand I did warn you!

**Almost everything has been recolored. The only things not recolored were the tiny little icons because even I'm not that obsessive. Also, some of the backgrounds in the frames are the original Maxis color because, for some reason, they were not included in the UI files. (believe me, I checked!) And I didn't recolor the text because I can't find the correct file to do it, but I personally think the maxis color goes nicely with my golden tones.

**Another note - I had a slight issue dealing with the very first picture. It replaces the Sims 2 Logo, but because my computer is very finicky it wouldn't read it as a recolor. So I had to go into the main files and change it manually. I've included an extra download entitled "Main Logo Extra". If your computer decides to join mine in mutiny, and refuses to show the new Logo, and you really detest the original Logo, you can follow the directions included in that zip to change it yourself!

Update 5/18/2020: I had more pictures here, but photo-bucket has decided to remove image hosting for free accounts, and so therefore unless I want to pay money I had to remove the photos.

Due to the extremely large size of the original files, I had to chop them into smaller pieces. You will need all the files for each Expansion you have! They build on each other, so make sure you grab all the files for each set! Here's a list of the total files you will need for each Expansion:

Base Game = 7
University = 1
Night Life = 2
Open For Business = 2
Pets = 3
Seasons = 2
Bon Voyage = 4
Free Time = 5
Apartment Life = 4
Mansions & Gardens = 4

If you have every Expansion, then you will need every single file! I suggest you put them all into one folder in your Downloads folder to make it easier to locate them all!

Please only put the files needed for each Expansion you have! I've tested it extensively, and if you put them in when you don't need them it may make your game crash!

Also, you can only have 1 UI Recolor in your game at a time!
