Vintage Barbie Collection: Silken Flame

I will admit that I'm a vintage (60's) Barbie fan. And re-creating some of my favorite doll fashions for the sims is something I've been wanting to do for a while now, just for the fun of it! Even if you can't stand the dolls, you might be able to use this dress if you like retro-clothing.

First up, and a bit appropriate for Valentine's Day, is Silken Flame, a red and white strapless dress with a gold belt and red shoes. (pumps in this case, as the open shoes wouldn't look right on this mesh)
This dress is often paired with another set, called Red Flare, which included a red pillbox hat, a big red coat, white gloves, and a gold clutch.
I have no intention on creating that particular set as I doubt I would be able to find a mesh for it, but I went ahead and made the red hat to go along with the dress. (to kind of... finish it, I suppose)



The nails are also painted red. Textures used are my own and Maxis'.

I used a mesh from All About Style for the dress. It is INCLUDED in the zip file!

The red hat is a recolor of a mesh that can be found HERE as part of the "Retroville" set. You will need to grab the mesh for the hat to show up in your game! If you'd rather not have it, just toss the file.
The hat DOES have a weird "star" thing on the back of it. I tried removing it but had no luck. I'm supposing it's a mesh issue instead of an alpha issue, and there's currently nothing I can do about it, sorry.

Anyway, enjoy! Some other favorite fashions of mine will be coming soon, when I find the best meshes and the time to paint them!
