This is something I've had in the making for a few months now but when the patio stuff pack was announced, and then the spa pack, I expected lounge chairs to be included with first one, then the other. Surprised that loungers were included with neither, here's one. It's a modified TS3 lounger. It's found in the Comfort/Misc section in Buy Mode and costs 300 simoleons.

It comes in 20 colours as below, from top to bottom and left to right: 1) Green, 2) Blue, 3) Purple, 4) Pink, 5) Red, 6) Brown animal print, 7) Grey animal print, 8) White shabby chic, 9) Bleached weathered wood with rusty rails, 10) Brown tweed, 11) Black, 12) Brown suede, 13) Red suede, 14) Black suede, 15) Flowered, 16) Blue tweed, 17) Grey tweed, 18) Brown cracked leather, 19) Retro blue check, and 20) Camouflage.

Animation issues: As recliner chairs doesn't exist in TS4, getting sims in and out of a chair this length means that they have to clip through the front in order to sit in the seat. If the whole 2-tile long footprint is unpassable, the sims have routing tantrums. So when they sit down or stand up, they will stand through the front of the chair. The seated rigging deforms their legs a little and their heels will sometimes clip through the cushion when they move their feet around. This is not overly noticeable in gameplay unless you really stare at them, so hopefully most players will find it acceptable.

Looks cute for evenings by the pool:

It can also be used by children, and looks nice indoors as well as out.

Thanks for looking, hope you'll find this item useful until if/when we ever get real loungers. But at least these are compatible with the base game, no expense needed on additional packs.

A big thanks to orangemittens for advice re foot rotation, without which I'd have never figured this out.
