Over and Under Modern Estate

I said on a mansion I made a few weeks ago that I may make a smaller mansion so I could do more landscaping. So, here it is!

I had a lot of fun with the landscaping. I quite like the look of the fountains, and the hedges. I also had the idea to partially shade over the garage area with a deck, and the glass rugs over that area. I like the colors of the exterior too. I usually make my homes monochromatic or yellow-y browns. This time I went with a more ashy look. The plain brown color on the house is even a bit reddish purple in color.

I was looking at modern houses on the web, and one of them had a pool that was partially covered by a roof, so I decided to add that in this lot. Perhaps then, your sims could swim when it's raining (though they can swim anytime, it would be more realistic this way). I also like the color of the pool. I usually keep the default pool color, or tone it down. This time, I made the pool even more vibrant, further making that the center point of the backyard. Due to having a lot of room in the backyard, I also added some outdoor entertainment areas, and a playground.



I decided to add a pet room this time. I don't usually do this, but I initially made a larger gym, and didn't think it was necessary to have an extra large gym. So I added this room instead.

So the rooms I have included are:

-kids play room

-basement garden
-empty room*

*Since the empty room is on the second floor near the large deck, I didn't want to make it into a bedroom. I thought it would be a good hobby room. Though of course you could make it a bedroom if you wanted. You can add any room you'd like in the foundation basement, so you could always make your own hobby room down there too.

The pond is also stocked with fish.

If you want a larger mansion, then you can find three other modern mansions in my studio which are larger.



I made the arcade rather small, though you could certainly make it larger. The garden is only stocked with base game plants, though you could easily extend the size of the garden and add some other plants if you'd like. To place, you can add more of the ITF grass rugs, and place them using moveobjects on, found in buydebug. Or, your sims can plant as normal as well, due to the ITF rugs.
