Newbie Road 43a [NL] - Two-in-one starter house
Category: Lots & Housing > Residential > Starter Homes
Cost: 19.935
Lot size: 2x2
Nightlife expansion required.
Custom content: 1x Wallpaper, by myself
Description:
Expanded version of Newbie Road 43 -- 2 tiny row houses, one unfurnished except for most basic fittings, the other one furnished and expanded to house 2-3 sims with room to spare. This might be useful if you have a very poor sim (or two) and want them to "join household" with another (small) family, but don't like the "same household" part of the deal -- on this lot, they will be just neighbours.
The lot costs less than 20.000 (for both houses together); each house has a small front porch, two driveways included, some landscaping, no decoration. They look very cute if you place a couple of them next to each other.
House 1 (expanded):
1 x double bedroom
1 x single bedroom
2 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining/living room
1 x spare room (unfurnished)
Basic appliances included: lights, toilet, bathtub, fridge, kitchen sink, trashcan, phone, burglar alarm, smoke detector, bookshelf.
House 2 (small and unfurnised):
1 x double bedroom
1 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining/living room
Basic appliances included: trashcan, phone, burglar alarm, smoke detector.
Expandability: The small house you can expand just like the "big" one -- should be easy, as you can use it as a blueprint.
Recommended hack: Use Inge Jones' keyholder doors as front doors (www.simlogical.com, under Downloads > TS2 > Hacked Doors) or a similar access management system -- otherwise your sims won't know which house is theirs. Don't forget the garden doors (unless you want your sims to water each other's flowers)
Note:
If you get an "expansion pack data required" error upon installation, use Clean Installer instead of the Maxis one. Apparently this is a known issue (not specific to this download), see this thread describing the problem and this post (daysies) explaining the workaround.
Enjoy!

Install Instructions
1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
