4.Marvine's spiral stairs need an animation file in order to work properly (see Marvine's thread here) You dont need it for them to go upstairs. But without this, they will just teleport up, without the animation of climbing the stairs.
5. If you would like to keep the effect of a stone paved driveway, I suggest using the invisible driveway by roddyalexio it can be found here
