In Sims 2 the grandparents didn’t age unless you played them, so I got in the habit of having them live with one of their children and help raise the grandchildren. Since they can age on their own in Sims 3 it is not necessary to do that but after trying it out I decided that I enjoy the extra help with the kids so I am starting a series of Generation Houses.

NOTE:
On my stair over stair. I am not sure if anyone is having this problem but I thought I would mention it. In both, my Cypress Manor and Lucidity the stairs work on the original lot. But when I placed them out of the bin and moved a family in, the stair only worked one time, once the sim went down it they could not come back up. Replacing the stair did not help. So what worked on both lots was to go to edit town and move the family with the house to a different lot and everything is working fine. It has since been found that the stair over stair only works when the stair is going a certain direction in the world.
