Lakeside Starter Home

Intro

Normally, I'm a rubbish builder, but with the new freedom with building introduced in the latest patch, I decided to play around a bit and see what I could come up with, and was actually quite impressed with how this home turned out.

Lot Description

Situated on a steep hill overlooking a large lake, this home is both classy and very affordable for the first-time buyer. The home is elevated on large pillars with a twisting staircase embedded in the hillside leading up to the front porch.

The first floor includes a spacious living area, a bathroom and good-sized kitchen. The living room boasts floor to ceiling windows and hardwood floors and the entire floor is furnished with basic furnishings necessary for your Sim to live comfortably. This allows the home to be affordable to a first-time buyer and leaves lots of room for upgrading and renovations.

The second floor features a large bedroom with a nicer-than-average bed. The bedroom opens to the spacious second-floor balcony that overlooks the lake and offers stylish seating for your Sims to lounge and admire the lovely view.

Builder's Notes

The home does not have a laundry room or any laundry appliances. This was done deliberately because I know a lot of people don't like the laundry feature and would rather not bother with it.

If you do desire a laundry room, there is ample space on the second floor to put one in.

This lot will look best placed in Twinbrook across the street from the Police Station, right beside the lake and bridge. That's where I placed this lot when building it. You may need to fiddle with the placement a bit to get it to place there. I had to fiddle around with the lot placement a bit before it would let me place anything in that spot.

Compatability

You will need World Adventures and Ambitions to use this house. You'll also need to be patched to 4.0 since I used the roof section height tool to get the roof to look like that and previous versions of the game don't have this Build feature.

The house contains no custom content and requires no mods to use.
