Features
  • Replaces hood, subhood, downtown, CAS, YACAS, empty lot loading, going to a community lot, etc. The only things this does NOT replace are the splash screen when you start the game (check out greatcheesecakepersona's tumblr for ones that match Clean UI!) and family/vacation loading plus possibly walking to a community lot, none of which we do not know how to change yet. (the files are hidden somewhere)
  • Up to 4K supported.
  • Unfortunately, these are not animated and do not have a loading bar - like GCKP said, no one knows how to interpret/replace the RIFF files that contain the animations yet.
  • Light colors come with a black bar because there is no known way to change the text color.
  • No color banding! The shading on the options with bars has been properly dithered and looks smooth on any display.

Colors [only choose one]:
  1. White (Matches Clean UI!!)
  2. Black with or without bar
  3. Blue with or without bar (Matches Maxis Loading screen, Sims 4-esque)
  4. Purple with or without bar (Matches Maxis UI, pre-splash color, and the purple screen that shows up when you change the resolution.)
  5. A random green thrown in there. I doubt many people will use this one.

Thanks to a UIScript group name posted by tumblr @greatcheesecakepersona, I looked around in the basegame UI package at the group they specified and was able to figure out how the loading screen was stored.

Naturally, just like other parts of the game and its UI, such as the loading splash screen, it can be replaced - in this case instances that usually point to the Maxis loading animation (Riff) can actually be pointed to image files.

They're kind of TS4-like in that they don't differentiate between types of loading screen, but it is possible to.

Feel free to leave suggestions for colors, designs, icons, etc. for future loading screens!
