This old place is a cross between California Mission and Craftsman style architecture. They only have one official 'bedroom', but the dining room had a trundle bed in the wall that pulled down. The dining and living room had sliding pocket doors for privacy, and that too could be used as another bedroom. My mom and aunt slept in the living room and my uncle had the trundle bed in the Dining room. I used shoji sliding doors because those came with the game, but you can swap in your own CC sliding doors. There is a small office space off the living room.
The fun thing for us kids was that the large closet in the foyer went through to the gramma's bedroom. We'd run circles through the house, zipping through the closet, out gramma's bedroom, through the kitchen, through the dining room, to the foyer, repeat.... until we were caught and sent outside to play. 🤭
Gramma had some very nice old Ming and inlaid furniture in her living room, so I used game pieces as a reminder of her old furniture. She also had a nice Tang-era replica horse. She also had a bunch of bonsai in her house and backyard. I only used the one game bonsai in the dining room.
The building's entrance foyer had a green house glass ceiling in the stairwell. I put a fake utility room on the roof with access to a rooftop garden (which never existed in the real apartment). The backyard is rather small, but it has a picnic table, grill, a place for bicycles, and a double clothesline. The back stairs do work, but when I play-tested it and told my sim to go to the backyard, she'd go down the main stairwell, then around the building to the backyard. 🤦🏻♀️ 🙄 'Silly Sims!' 🤭 I guess the stairwell bends were too much for my sims? 🤣 Or maybe because each level has a small 'porch'? Anyway, they are designed to real spec.
The interesting thing is that these old apartments had storefronts on the ground level, with the apartments being upstairs. I configured it for 4 apartments upstairs and 2 ground-floor storefront units. The left storefront is furnished as a bakery/coffee shop. The storefront ideas could be a hobby craft store, a fabric store, an antique store, a nectar store, a veterinary clinic, a massage therapy storefront, etc, etc. The storefronts do have small bathrooms.
Since the game does not allow you to have a residential rental WITH a business in the same building (an oversight on EA's part)
* You'd have to reset the building for either single residence, then set the bottom floor to a home business.
* OR, make the entire building a retail operation
* OR, leave it as is, make it all public 'shared' space on the ground floor, and start your business or hobby outlet, and hope that EA fixes their oversight.
There is no CC in this lot.
20x30 lot size
Enjoy!
