This career has a unique guid will not overwrite any of the Maxis' careers/
Superfly has clarified that this should work on any version of the sims 2, Nightlife is not a requirement.
Please note that this career is in testing stages, meaning that you use this download at your own risk, and will be expected to report any problems you find.
I know a lot of people have been disappointed by how Nightlife never included the Sims actually learning how to drive, which in my opinion, is a big part of life.
So here it is, Driving Lessons for Teens.
This is a part-time job for a teen which is in three stages, though skilled sims may be able to start the job at a higher stage.
The stages are:
Learner Driver (-$50 per Lesson, 2 Hours, 16:00 –18:00)
So you're finally old enough to drive, your picture proudly displayed on the provisional licence. Learning to drive can be very exciting, albeit rather expensive. But before you know it, the L-Plates will be off and your teenage Sims will be ready to take to the roads.
Skilled Learner Driver (-$75 per Lesson, 3 Hours, 16:00 - 19:00)
You've mastered most of the maneuvers and are safe enough to confidently drive amongst the hordes of reckless drivers (and some people who aren’t even fit to be driving a go-kart - let alone endangering other drivers), all of which have to be calmly dealt with. You have now entered the realms of three-point-turns and the dreaded parallel park.
The length of your lessons has increased, and so has the price!
Keep it up and your license will be within reach in no time.
Driving Test (-$175, 4 Hours, 15:00 – 19:00)
It's time to take the test, it's going to take every ounce of your skill in order to impress the examiner, not only must you provide them with a safe ride, but also perfectly perform a myriad of driving maneuvers. Pass or fail - the test is going to cost you $175. Good luck!
Unlike jobs, the driving lessons and test will cost your sim family money. However they are good for skill building and they also increase social and fun moods. These costs also simulate the real life costs of driving lessons, which makes a big impact on a family and increases pressure on the learner to pass the test as soon as possible.
For the driving test, the ‘Wages’ will appear as ‘0’ but the chance card will take away the $175 fee.
Inbetween job stages, the Driving Instructor is inclined to take a bonus, this goes as follows:
Learner driver > Skilled Learner driver = -$150
However, he charges you nothing when you advance to the test, and even allows you off the lesson fee if you are able to come to driving test standard.
If you pass the test, the sim will become unemployed again, and may seek another job if they wish. If the sim fails the test, they will be downgraded to ‘Skilled Learner Driver’.
When this career is finally released, there will be a car-recolour pack included, allowing your sims to have L-plates on their car.
Please let me know if you have any problems.
Features:
>3 Stages
>Interesting chance cards for each stage.
>Charge for taking lessons and test.
>Custom job icon
>All languages have been enabled (meaning that it will work in any version), but it is still in the English language.
Known Issues that I can’t seem to solve:
>As the sim passes the test, they are automatically removed from the job, unfortunately they believe they have been fired and are given a negative memory because of it.
>Due to the game's promotion ‘Bonus’ system, I had to place the test price at zero and only charge via the chance card (Which will appear 100% of the time). If I hadn’t priced it at zero, an extra $250 would be taken from your sim.:-/
Below you will find some pictures featuring the job icon and other details.
So here's the download, let me know if you notice any problems other that that I've posted above.
