Secret hi-tech study / basement
This is Dr Diabolical's Quaint Cottage of Doom, created for the Good vs. Evil showcase. On the surface this seems like any other quaint little cottage (of doom!) but that is nothing more than a fascade! Hidden beneath this simple flowery abode is the secret lair of Dr Diabolical, who else could corrupt something so quaint!
Rooms
4 Bedrooms (1 up top, 3 in the hideout)
2 Bathrooms (1 up top, 1 in the hideout)
Kitchen / dining / livingroom area (up top)
Hi-tech study / office (in the hideout)
Lot size - 30x30
Lot price - $66,404 (F) / $41,452 (Unf)
Side Notes
This is a house I made for the official EA / Sims 3 "Good vs. Evil" showcase over at www.thesims3.com but I decided to upload it here also, since this is where I'm lucky to have the majority of my uploads
. It is a theme house and the basic concept is a evil genius / nemesis / villain type has built his hideout underneath a seemingly normal "quaint cottage".. the kind of place you wouldn't necessarily expect to find such a person. It is a 3 floor house though only 1 floor is "above" ground, the 1st and 2nd floors are actually basement style floors with the 3rd floor appearing to be the main floor on the surface (confusing I know). The above ground floor is basically a standalone house, it has 1 bedroom, a bathroom and an open plan kitchen / dining / livingroom area.
The first sub level has 3 bedrooms, 2 small "cell" like bedrooms and a "master" bedroom. The second sub level appears to be a regular basement but has two special rooms, one is a hi-tech sanitation chamber (read "bathroom") and the other is a hi-tech evil scheme generation station (read "study / office").
Testing
Have done some basic testing, everything seems in order (all objects seem to be accessable so far as I could see). I did notice one issue with the newspaper deliver location, the papergirl / boy dropped it off down by the corner of the hedge on the left side near the house (as you look across the bridge at the house), that may clear up if you set the front door (don't think I had) or after subsequent deliveries, but just incase you can't find it.. look there
. If anyone finds any issues please let me know and I'll try to correct them as promptly as possible.Lot Size: 3x3
Lot Price: $66,404

Install Instructions
1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.
