Hello fellow Simmers!!
This is house number two in my California Bliss series. Another actual house, this one is actually my very own home!
That's right. This is MY HOUSE. That blue couch in the living room? That's where I'm sitting while I type this. That orange lap top in the backyard? That's mine. The books and dvds all over the floor.. yeah, that's all true life. So if there is something that you don't like or looks off for continuity reasons.. well.. it's on purpose. =)
So here is the real deal:
Yep, that's a real Google Earth image, and that's my truck out front. =D Numbers are blurred for obvious reasons.
And here is my copy:
There are a few differences, mostly due to game design, but I tried to get as close as possible. Other changes are updates that I made based on current remodeling taking place in our home. The spa in our back yard is currently being put in, as is the hard wood flooring in the living room, and the kid's rooms are currently spare bedrooms (I don't have kids yet) but I wanted to show everyone the true potential of the house.
Our back yard doesn't actually have a raised deck, but the patio cover is there.. and in order to make it work with game design, I had to raise it. But I like the look a lot. Everything else is spot on, down to the placement of the posts and angles of all the chairs. The lavender on the side of the house is also actually jasmine, but there is no jasmine in the game. =(
Hey look! My bedroom!
So, here is what you need to know about this house. As with my others, this one is mid priced at $61,776/$133,495. The house includes a back yard kitchen and sitting area, a dining area, a library, a living room, a sitting room, kitchen, laundry room, two kids rooms, an office, and a regular bathroom, a master bathroom, and the master bedroom. Most of the decorations have been CAST by me, and there is no CC on the lot.
The actual style of my home is in fact a Neo Colonial Ranch style. However, that does NOT mean that this house is made for horses. Horses will not fit on this lot, so please do not download it for that purpose. It is called ranch style because of its one story lay out.
Another thing you should know is that some items have been placed with the moveobjects true cheat. Those objects include the following:
Fireplace
Chair next to fireplace
All supporting posts
Spa
Out door Kitchen
The reason these items were placed that way were for continuity versus game play. All items are still fully usable and shouldn't be an issue at all unless you decide that you want to remodel or change the items. Just remember that if you want to move them, then move them back, you must have the cheat enabled.
Also, the garage was created with the CFE (constrainfloorelevation off) cheat, which is why the items in there and the lighting are a bit odd. And since I do not have a door in my house leading into the garage, this means that there isn't one in game either. So if you want to send your Simmie into the garage to do some drafting, inventing, or anything else, you will have to open the garage door manually first. Other than that, it shouldn't be an issue.
So that's it! I hope you enjoy having my home (literally) in your game. Please feel free to leave comments, and check back for more houses from my world to yours!

2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Just me.
Just started creating houses for upload to MTS. I plan to do an entire California Bliss series of homes inspired by and modeled after homes I've been to, grew up in, or pass by on my daily outings. All homes under the California Bliss title are 100% California Architecture as I see it.
If you have some type of home lot request, I would be happy to take it and do my best with it, but I make no promises.
Feel free to play with my houses, change them, and make them your own. Feel free to upload to free sites ONLY. No pay or partial pay sites, please. =)
