Updated: 19th Mar 2023 at 9:50 PM - Updated reward trait for Patch 1.90
Necromania Reward Trait: Necromaniac sims are fascinated by death and gain positive buffs when around it.

This trait was made with Zerbu's Mod Constructor program and I am eternally grateful to them!

There are 2 versions of this trait: the Reward Store trait and a CAS trait found in the emotion section.

Compatibility and Testing: Both versions are working with patch 1.96.
This trait should be completely functional with only the Base Game installed. That said, I do have a number of the expansions and stuff packs in my game, so when I tested this trait it was with all of those packs included. If you run into any problems please let me know, as it is entirely possible that I missed something!
Many sims were harmed in the making of this mod.

Requirements
The reward trait version of this mod requires the XML injector to add it to the rewards store. You can get the XML injector here: https://scumbumbomods.com/#/xml-injector/.

Updates
  • 8/12/2022: Updated the Reward trait for Patch 1.90. Reward trait now requires the XML injector to work.
  • 8/11/2020: Updated the Cas trait for Patch 1.90. The Reward trait is currently NOT compatible, so please remove it from your game.
  • 2/6/2021: Fixed text for duplicate buffs, added a CAS trait version of Necromania for those who are unable to get the reward trait to show up.
  • 2/1/2021: Updated to be compatible with Paranormal Stuff Pack and patch 1.70. Added new buffs for increased gameplay effects.

What does it do?
This reward trait replaces the various sad buffs generated by deaths with positive emotion buffs. It also adds a happy buff whenever your sim is near the Grim Reaper. This trait can be purchased from the rewards store for 2000 aspiration points. It does NOT remove the sad buff from mourning at a tombstone, so if you want your sim to feel sad over the death of a loved one they can still do so.

Why?
I found it really annoying when my evil murderous sims would become sad after killing another sim in cold blood. This reward trait replaces the automatic sad buffs. For anyone who enjoys Zero's Vampires can Kill Mod, Sacrificial's Extreme Violence Mod, or andrian_m.l Deadly Spellcasters mod this should allow your sims to kill without that pesky sadness getting in the way .

Buffs:
1. Friend of Death: {0.SimFirstName} is feeling inspired by the endless possibilities and questions of what their friend experienced as they passed on. Maybe they'll come back for some ghostly hangouts!
- Sims will get this +2 Inspired buff instead of the Mourning buff for acquaintances and friends.

2. Ghostly Love: {0.SimFirstName} is feeling flirty at the idea of reuniting with their ghostly love. Maybe they should invest in a pottery wheel?
- Sims will get this +2 Flirty buff instead of the Mourning buff for partners. This is only applied if your sim is in a relationship with the deceased sim.

3. Ghostly Family: Having a ghostly family member is like having an insider's perspective on death. {0.SimFirstName} has so many questions to ask them!
- Sims will get this +2 Confident buff instead of the Mourning buff for family members.

4. Witnessed Death: {0.SimFirstName} can't believe they were able to witness an actual death! Maybe they'll have a chance to talk to the Grim Reaper himself!
- Sims will get this +2 Energized buff instead of the normal sad buff from witnessing death.

5. In the Presence of Death: It's the Grim Reaper! {0.SimFirstName} can't believe they have a chance to talk to death itself!
- Sims will get this +2 Happy buff whenever they are around the Grim Reaper.

Compatability with other mods...
With the shift to using the XML injector, you should no longer need to worry about compatibility issues with other reward trait mods.

Again, this trait would not be possible without Zerbu's Mod Constructor Program: https://zerbu.tumblr.com/post/18178...-constructor-v4 and Sims4Studio: https://sims4studio.com/
Also a massive thank you to Triplis for continuing to update Scumbumbos XML Injector: https://scumbumbomods.com/#/xml-injector/ .
